About Winter Adventure at Lanier Islands

With its average of one inch of snowfall per year, Buford probably isn't the first place you'd think of when you're hankering to enjoy wintry activities. But Lanier Islands changes all that with its Winter Adventure attraction, which transforms part of the 1,500-acre property into a perpetually snowy wonderland. Here, you and your family can zip down slides on tubes and sleds, build snowmen and snow forts, or even start a snowball fight. When you need a break from all the frosty fun, you can kick back around Winter Adventure's fire pits while sipping hot cocoa and munching on s'mores.

This year, the lakeside resort introduces bubble-focused activities including a bubble play area, bubble skating rink and Knockerball, a game that places players inside a large, plastic bubble. And for a twist on a date night, guests can enjoy dinner at one of various restaurants along the boardwalk, followed by a show and the new 46' by 80' high-definition screen.
