Redemptions are a crucial component in the overall Groupon deal flow and ecosystem. Essentially Redemptions deal with Groupon receiving information from your system about whether a user actually attended an appointment they booked.
This is very important in order to manage the validity of passes and vouchers. For each booking Groupon must have an explicit signal from your system on whether the user attended the booking or did not (a no-show). On receipt of this signal Groupon will update our records and critically the voucher underpinning that booking. Having accurate redemptions information back from your systems enables us to pay merchants on time without problems, and this also affects our recording of revenue, refunds eligibility etc.
Groupon expects an explicit signal from your system for each booking within the same calendar day as the appointment (i.e. by 23:59:59). For bookings where Groupon has not received an explicit signal from your system we will synthetically mark the booking as redeemed, as if the user has attended the appointment.
