Holiday Inn Express & Suites Absecon-Atlantic City by IHG

Local Visits I was a bit skeptical of the location but it turned out to be fine. Check-in was easy. When we first walked into our room, we heard the toilet running. I immediately called the front desk to report it. Shortly thereafter, the manager showed up to check the problem because the maintenance person was busy. The manager did something to stop the toilet from running. Later in the evening, the toilet started running again. I again called the front desk to report it. The person on the phone stated she would call the manager to see what he did earlier to stop the running since maintenance staff had gone home. The front desk agent called me back and told me what to do to stop the running. She said the maintenance person would check the toilet in the morning and that’s what happened. The manager also returned to check the situation also. That level of caring by management was certainly appreciated. The rest of our stay went well. We ate breakfast at the hotel. There were plenty of selections and enough food for everyone.We also used the swimming pool and whirlpool. Both were clean and towels were provided. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel.

AC gem!! Fantastic hotel!!! I travel a lot and split between Marriott and IHG, and this hotel reminds me why I’ve favored Holiday Inn Express for almost 30 years! Why do I even bother with Marriott?? Loved EVERYTHING about this property! Modern, clean, friendly, and bright, and a GREAT location. About 10 min drive from Atlantic City, at a fraction of those prices, very nice breakfast included, plenty of parking. Rooms are perfectly appointed with great bathroom amenities ( I’m a super fan of the mounted soaps), lighting, USB/outlets, workspace, fridge, microwave, and coffee service. Completely blacked out curtains man’s ultra comfy bedding make for a great night’s sleep. Welcoming staff and lobby: coffee and water bars, plenty of more workspace and TV. As I was taking these photos, the front desk clerk was embarrassed that she had not fully re-stocked the pantry. It looked great to me! Just can’t say enough about this gem!

Mixed Hotel was clean and the staff was helpful and responsive, but the sound proofing is terrible! Could hear people talking and playing music 3 rooms down the hall. It seemed the doors not the walls. I’ve never had an experience in a hotel as noisy as this one.

Find somewhere else to stay! Booked two rooms as part of a wedding party. One room was not available, was supposed to be notified when it would be ready. Was never notified and the manager (Franklin) refused to give us a refund for the room we never used. Was also mistakingly charged a deposit for each room. Would of been better off staying at a $50 motel. I have never experienced such awful customer service at a hotel.

Nice room, but the bed is very high This motel is part of a string of motels in Absecon, about a 20-minute ride from Atlantic City, N.J. My room was roomy, with a king bed, closet, drawers, lots of storage surfaces, good lighting, a mini-fridge and microwave, a desk chair, an easy chair, and electrical outlets near each seating area. The bathroom was also roomy, with a large shower stall and lots of counter space. A minor nuisance: the soap dispenser was on the wall at the end of the counter, which was too far to reach while standing at the sink, so I had to step to the side, get soap, and step back to the sink. As I said, a minor nuisance. A larger problem, for me, was the height of the bed. I’m short, and the bed was so high, I couldn’t sit down on it. I had to wriggle around a bit to get up on it to lie down. It was comfortable once I was on it, and there was a choice of softer or firmer pillows, which was nice. My room was near the lobby, and there was a lot of noise on Saturday night from people conversing in the lobby. It was quiet on Sunday night. The included breakfast was pretty typical for motels with breakfast: cold cereals, hot oatmeal, a pancake machine, eggs, sausage, pastries. The motel doesn’t have a restaurant, and there were very few restaurants in walking distance. (Clearly, most guests at lodging in this area arrive in cars.) I did have a good meal at China Sea of Absecon, in a nearby strip mall.) If the motel had a step stool to loan to short guests, to facilitate getting into bed, I would have added a star to my review.
