Values for money ,great stay, lovely staff Had a lovely, really reasonably priced stay. All the staff at the hotel are really pleasant. The waiting staff at breakfast went out of their way to help, eggs made to order perfect, everything you could want on the buffet, staff happy to get my vegetarian sausages and a glass of ice so my daughter could make an iced latte, couldn't fault their attentiveness, nothing to much trouble.

Average stay. We stayed overnight for a wedding at the nearby Sparth house. Check-in was simple, but a charge of £50 was made on the card registered to your room even though all bills were paid as and when the card was used. The room was comfortable with a good-sized bed and a great shower, although there was no mirror in order to shave in the bathroom. Also, the top portion of the bathroom window was without privacy film. The exterior is in need of a lot of repair, mainly window replacement, worn paintwork, and several loose flags that form a trip hazard. The breakfast was extensive and tasty with a special mention to the lady in charge who was pleasant and went above and beyond to be as helpful as possible. (Name began with an E). Our evening was spent in the bar area but drinks are pricy. (£50 for 5 persons per round) There is also a limited bar food menu with a nice sized, tasty portion of fish and chips in the offering. Overall, I would consider the hotel to be average and have stayed in better for the same price point.

Inhumane treatment for disabled people with anxiety I've stayed at the Mecure Dunkenhalgh in Blackburn 17th to 20th April 2025. I am disabled & did report at reception showing my blue badge. Was placed in room on the 1st floor and had 2 take elevator, it broke & was stuck 4 hours. Reception then only book ground floor. I had to sit in private area outside fire escape door, I was then told off by a member of staff, how dare I leave emergency door open. I had to leave door open in case of emergency or when I need help. My carer was packing our luggage in the room & could not be with me. I was cold, discomfort & extremely upset as I also have severe anxiety. I closed the emergency exit door & felt panic. I just wanted 2 go home after that but had a family function. There was no time to have a shower or get proper ready for the function as my stuff was all back in wrong bags etc. The Manager told me they still learning about disabilities...really I mean the hotel is HOW OLD? I saw children in ground floor playing and actually staying with normal parents on the ground floor but most disabled people staying on 1st floor. Is this hotel prejudice against people with disability or is it meant for only special friends and family. If you pay more you can stay better? Was promised cleaning products but all was placed securely on the wall and high in the shower so disabled people can reach. I really think this hotel should send staff on a course on how to cater for severe disabled people. Hoping I will not suffer this inhumanity in future stays

Relaxing weekend break We upgraded to a privilege room, with spa robes, slippers, soft drinks in the fridge etc, the room 210 was spacious and nicely decorated with a comfy bed, unfortunately the door leading into the corridor, where our room was, made a horrendous bang on closing and became quite annoying during the night as people returned to their rooms. Two bottles of water instead of one to share would have been expected, especially when paying for an upgrade. The food we ate in the bar and restaurant was tasty, service was good, especially from Jack at the bar and Sara in the restaurant, all staff were courteous and friendly, Breakfast was mediocre, more food choices and a breakfast menu on the table would make it a better experiece as I didn't realise porridge was available until I asked and it had to be ordered specifically. The Spa was adequate and not overcrowded like some, suggested improvements, a seperate hot tub or a higher temperature in the adjoining pool one and a warm or tropical shower, instead of two cold ones in the thermal area. Overall a nice relaxing weekend and would recommend

Beautiful old building Had a lovely 2 night stay-over. Given a beautiful room and we had a complimentary upgrade on this stay - thank you for spoiling us! Breakfast was tasty with a wide selection of hot and cold food, the pool was nice and the beds comfortable and clean.
