Very Clean, Comfortable, Friendly Hotel Stay We stayed at this nice clean and friendly hotel for the convenience to attend a graduation at Howard University in Washington, DC. We were given room 402, a room with two beds, mini microwave, mini refrigerator, a full length mirror, and a tub and shower combination in the bathroom, work desk, but there is NO personal safe in the room, and the closet is very small, however it does have an iron and board in it. This Hotel is conveniently close to a lot of stores and places to eat and get food, and is very close and convenient to Washington DC. The hotel has a complimentary business center down in the lobby area, and a small fitness center, but there is NO swimming pool on the property. The staff throughout this hotel were all friendly and looking to help accommodate their guests. They had a black board at the front desk that welcomed all Platinum and returned guests by name, which was a warm welcome to do, and they also have some special parking spots for platinum guests, and there is plenty of good complimentary parking on the property for all guests as a whole. We felt safe in the area of this hotel and on their property. The complimentary breakfast was very nice with enough good items to choose on having and leaving content, and the foods were all fresh and they kept everything well stocked, and there was plenty of good seating in their dining area. We truly enjoyed our short stay at this hotel and we would absolutely consider to stay at this hotel again if we are in the area for any overnight stays.

Great place to stay for a football game My friends and I just stayed here for our annual football trip. Great location to visit all the sites in DC, outlying museums, Baltimore and Old Town. Ms Deborah was a definite highlight at breakfast looking after all guests with her warm smile and welcoming demeanour. Thanks for the pancakes :) Highly recommended.

Civil Rights Violated I checked into the Holiday Inn Express -Alexandria VA on September 21, 2023. The following morning I went downstairs (8am) to have breakfast at the buffet available to guest of the hotel. While I was dining, an employee approached me and asked if I was a guest at the hotel. I confirmed to the employee that I was indeed a guest of the hotel. Noticing how stunned I was by the question, the employee advised me that she was made to come out by her manager to inquire. About 10 minutes after this incident, the police arrive at the hotel, and approach me and advised me to leave the hotel, as I was reported as trespassing. I advised the police officer that I was a guest at the hotel. He reiterated that I must leave the property as the manager confirmed I was not a guest and was trespassing on the premises to take advantage of the free breakfast. The police officer never asked the manager how she verified this information. Because I refused to leave the hotel, I was arrested for trespassing. Once I arrived at the police station, the police confirmed that I was indeed a guest at the hotel and therefore the charge of trespassing was not applicable, but still charged me with disorderly conduct for not willingly leaving the property. It should be noted that I am an African-American male. The associate that was sent out initially to ask if I was a guest at the hotel was an African-American woman. The manager, who never bothered to approach me to verify if I was guest and ultimately made false accusations to the police is a Caucasian woman. I had to pay for an Uber to return to the hotel. The police returned to the hotel to escort me to my room to obtain my items and leave the premises.

Really nice for a budget hotel. We would stay here again. We chose this hotel for its location. We were pleasantly surprised at very clean room, comfortable beds, and choices of firm and soft pillows on each bed. Nice tv. The bathroom was clean, modern, and had good water pressure. This morning we went down to breakfast, and everything was well stocked, clean, and tasty. The kind woman who takes care of that area does an excellent job. I called her over to give her a tip, she smiled, removed her glove to take the money, put it away, and then put the glove back on. Excellent food handling. Lots of choices for breakfast too. We will definitely stay here again.
