Good location , pretty hotel Stayed 2 nights as part of a longer road trip to visit Mt Vernon. Overall , would def recommend. Location is great , a few blocks to the waterfront, can walk to many good restaurants and around Old Town. CvS across street and parking in basement very convenient. Room was nicely decorated and clean. We were facing the street on 2nd floor on a Saturday night and didn't find it super noisy like others seem to have. We were able to borrow big nice umbrellas on a rainy morning which was nice. Only comments were that the bathroom sink area was a bit cramped and there were used toiletry bottles and washcloths left under the sink. Other room bathroom photos do look more spacious and the marble in better shape so YMMV. I knew this going in, so more just fyi, but the room had 2 double beds , not queens, so was a bit tight for a family of 4. Would stay again for sure.

this hotel was the only bad thing about my wedding I had a wonderful wedding weekend. However, throughout the entire weekend, I was worried about hotel issues. It was obvious that we were not prioritized. I do not know if staff were overwhelmed, simply did not care, or were completely unprepared to handle issues. Not only were basic standards not met, but I felt actively uncomfortable in the hotel several times. None of my requests were easily accommodated, and I would not and will not recommend any bride ever use this hotel for their wedding. I would not recommend this hotel for any event. Here are some snippets of the email I am sending to Marriott corporate after my wedding weekend was totally butchered by this hotel: In the months leading up to the room block with 31 rooms, communication was inconsistent and assurances made months in advance were not held. In the weeks ahead, we called and emailed several times to reiterate that we would like an early check in, emphasizing we needed the bride's room ready early because we had belongings that needed to be dropped off in our room so that we could use our car to transport our wedding party back and forth from the wedding rehearsal. We were told that it shouldn't be an issue. I also requested two bar stools be sent to the suite for Saturday morning upon the request of my makeup artist, who has this request accommodated easily on a daily basis. On Friday we arrived to the Alexandrian for the early check in, with an SUV full of wedding items. When we tried to check into our suite, we were told by front desk staff that the room was not yet ready. We left them our friends' room number along with my cell phone number, and they let us know that they would call us as soon as the room was ready. We never received a call- at all. This affected the logistics of many of the precisely timed and planned details for our day. Following the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, I arrived back at the Alexandrian to finally check in to my room. When we were checking in, I asked to confirm that the bar stools would be in our room. The manager said our request was impossible to accommodate. My friends got mildly frustrated but were not at all threatening or disrespectful and in response the manager threatened to call the police! Later that night, I received a phone call from the manager offering a different suite to get ready in the morning. On the way to show me the suite he made several very rude comments. Once there, he told us that we could use the makeup room, but said that we could not touch the bedroom. I was a bit worried about that because I know what it looks like when 10 women all get ready for a wedding together. I woke up stressed in the middle of the night knowing that I was now being held to a specific set of standards and knowing that I would have to move many things down to the suite to get ready in the morning. I decided that I did not want to deal with the stress, and thought to myself that I noticed that the suite had stools in it- could we not simply use those instead of using the entire suite? I went down to the front desk and asked to have the stools from the suite moved to my room. 30 minutes later, the stools were in the room. In the end, what was conveyed to us as an impossible task turned out to be quite simple! It was a shame that such a simple but logistically important request could not have been fulfilled from the beginning, and instead caused stress for everyone involved. When the jacuzzi tub went off loudly at 3 AM and spurted water all over the bathroom and my husband called to talk to front staff about it, they hung up on him when he laughed after being told that it was entering a cleaning cycle and would be on for an hour. They moved us to another room after we called back, and we spent our wedding night in a room with a broken AC. There were many many other incidents like this throughout the weekend (to the point of it being comical how many things went wrong), but these anecdotes illustrate the experience.

Solid Choice in Alexandria, VA We recently visited our son in Alexandria and decided to select a hotel we felt had the Old town feeling. Overall, the room was nicely appointed. I was grateful for the bottled water (large, glass bottles) that stayed extra cold in their glass containers. The bed was comfortable and the balcony was a relaxing spot to hang out. The bathroom layout felt a little cramped and it was awkward getting in and out of the sick area--the doors swung out in an odd manner. The hotel itself was just a few blocks from the wharf and in the heart of old town. We would consider staying again when returning to the area.

Perfect location. Very good service. We booked this using Marriott points. The location is ideal: close enough to the waterfront and all the historic sights to easily walk, but far enough from the restaurant district to not be loud. The room was clean and everything worked well. Our third floor room faced King St, which was surprisingly quiet except that we could hear a brass quartet playing in the nearby square early in the evening. We enjoyed the in-room Keurig, and there's Starbucks one block away as a backup. The only rough part was check in. The drive-up spots in front of the hotel were blocked by a tour bus and there were no bellhops to greet us, so my husband left me off to check in while he circled the block. We knew there was an on-site garage, but it had an automatic ticket gate and didn't want to drive in unless we knew how the parking worked, in case we got charged double. Turns out, you go ahead and take a ticket, park in the garage, and then get it validated at the front desk and they add the $33/day parking fee to your bill. I wish the website or the check in instructions had explained all that - it would have saved time and confusion. When we got to our room, it was the wrong room type. The phone didn't work to call the front desk, so we carted our suitcase back to the lobby to report the problem. After a long time looking, they told us our requested room had not been cleaned yet (even though it was 5 PM). So, we left our suitcase at the front desk and went out for coffee until the room was ready. Through all this confusion, the front desk was very courteous and apologetic. The rest of the stay was smooth and flawless, and I would still highly recommend this hotel. Mistakes always happen.

Comfortable bed! Nice location! Very comfortable pillow and mattress! Everyone was very nice. Great location to walk to the shops, restaurants, and water. Although I recommend a room not over the street as it was loud on weekend nights. Clean and good size! I would stay again.
