Second disappointment We stayed in the crofts twice recently and both times disappointed. Our hot tub wouldn't heat over 94° again and once again management has done nothing. This time they told us to use the tub at the next room but we couldn't move rooms for whatever reason. So we are trudging in the dark threw trees and shrubs to be able to use a tub that works. This is the reason we book the crofts. Having both nights ruined for us and nothing but frustration from management. This is not how a guest is treated in a good hotel nevermind vintage hotel. Totally upset. The handling or lack there of by management has completely sucked our joy to be sure

Beautiful Inn- In need of an accessibility update Millcroft Inn & Spa Oct 2024. The main building is a great conversation merging old and new and the location stunning. Sadly the new parts of the conversation are now indeed of some TLC . I was staying in an accessible room, uniquely located on the 3rd floor? My struggle began on arrival, the ramp to enter is rough stone on a 20 degree angle and about 30 feet, once at the top the door swings but is not automated with a pushbutton, requiring 2 additional people to get me through. There is no seating in the lobby and my son had to do the check in for me. The 2nd ramp in the lobby is an obvious after thought that is need of some attention, the parquet surface is starting let go and was a bit treacherous. My next hurtle was in my room, and yes beautiful and spacious, the bathroom was in need of a taller toilet, and better placed grab bars, and a grab bar beside the bed would also have been useful. Breakfast brought it's own challenge as I use a walker and was first temporarily seated and then moved having travers 3 steps with a low hand rail, uniquely while eating breakfast we watched another senior fall down these same steps. The staff was very helpful through my navigation of the building, but a hard rethink to accessiblity and those using walker or a wheelchair?

A lovely peaceful environment The facility and grounds are lovely. We stayed in the main inn which is well appointed. Be aware that parking is a bit of a distance from the main lobby, however you can drive up to the guest checkin and park for 15 minutes while you check in. Otherwise, if you miss the signage and park first, you have to drag your luggage all the way down a hill, and across a bridge to the front entrance. Also the main dining room is quite pricey but there is a nice lounge where you can eat, but the food choices are limited. There aren’t any other restaurants around the hotel, so you are forced to eat there.

We celebrated our 42nd anniversary there. The staff was overwhelming The food was absolutely amazing. Our waiter. Fred was the best we’ve ever had very attentive, and Rahul was so gracious and kind and gave us the best seat in the house for our anniversary. They treated us So well, everyone was very kind. The spa was amazing and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. I can’t say enough about this place.

Save your money ! Not worth it. We decided to stay at the Millcroft Inn for my husband’s sons wedding that was taking place close by off site. Overall we a very disappointing experience and would not recommend it to anyone. When we arrived at the location signage was limited and took us a bit to even find the check in area. Upon arrival we were checked in quickly and given a lone key to our accommodations. Upon entry to our room we were hit with the smell similar to smelly feet. Room was clean, wood fire place was a nice touch, but shower had poor pressure and never got to a hot temperature. We headed to the spa and the disappointment continued. The only person who showed any type of customer service was Edward. The person at reception was not welcoming and gave very little instruction, yet were very quick to get paid after our massages . Edward noticed my frustration and assisted us and showed us where things were. This is not a nice spa. It is dated, the services are mediocre, but the main thing missing is customer service. Even in the cafe you order at a small window, and they bring you the bill before you even get the food. One of the very few highlights of our visit was dinner at Headwaters. Fred was absolutely lovely and the food was excellent. It would be to the Millcrofts advantage to learn from him how to take care of customers from Fred. The next morning we headed to Headwaters for breakfast. Thinking that it would be similar to Eg St Anne’s Spa and that were heading to the spa after I went in the robe. There were 3 couples a head of us in line, the lady at the reception asked who us at the end of the line, were we planning to dine. I replied yes, her response - No Robes. We went back to our room and I changed and returned. The gentleman who this time greeted us asked how he could help and we said 4 for breakfast. He responded with they weren’t serving breakfast and then quickly realized that we were not taking this as a joke as he meant. We at that time told him how disappointing of a experience we had experienced and that his joking was not appreciated. He apologized and seated us. Breakfast was fine and he did check on us. After the bills were given he returned to the table to say that our breakfast was complimentary yet I see on our invoice that the change is still there. We then spent some more time in the spa, again the customer service was lacking and not welcoming. The last morning we went to Headwaters for breakfast. Although Head waters does a excellent dinner service, mornings at the Millcroft seem very disorganized and that they are surprised by groups arriving for breakfast. Others from the same wedding who had made reservations for breakfast were also met with the same disorganized greeting, even saying to them that they don’t do breakfast reservations. The Millcroft did send us a text asking how are experiences had been so far and we rated it a two. We responded with why we rated it a two but no follow up was given. Value for money this was very disappointing. The sad part is it wouldn’t cost them very much to add some value but having good customer service. Simple things like acknowledging a guests arrival into any area they enter, a list of their “rules” upon check in, along with management following up on feedback that is given.
