Windsor best and woes. Our beds were wonderful...fluffy and soft and we liked the pillows too. The staff was warm and friendly. Only complaint was the furniture in our room. The chairs were terrible...old and needed replaced. So no comfortable place to sit after a long day of sightseeing.

Cool building... poor service. It's a shame this great old hotel is managed by the clueless... They've had a ton of service issues with bad hire after bad hire... and just when they might be turning the corner, the manager shows his ignorance. The AC goes out. 3rd floor rooms are mid-80's at ten oclock at night. What does the manager do? Mitigate the issue with fans? Warn guests that are checking in that the AC is out? Oh hell no. He tells the brand new front desk person (her first night alone) that if anyone complains, offer them a 10% discount. And then he leaves. What a class act!

The property owners have ruined this hotel We have always loved this hotel. The history, the beauty and charm. Maybe a little run down but still an enjoyable stay. This time not so much. First let me say that the two ladies at the front desk were awesome through all the trouble. When we arrived rooms were not ready because they only had 1 washing machine working and they were behind. Mina helped everyone with a smile and said they were working as quick as possible to get rooms ready. While waiting we made a reservation for tonight at Rosemary & Thyme, one of the onsite restaurants. When we tried to get off the elevator to go to dinner the doors would not open properly. We pushed them open and proceeded to the restaurant only to be told they were closed and we would have to eat at the pub. Not the kind food we wanted but I am diabetic and needed to eat. We were very upset about this and asked for a manager. The woman who told us the other restaurant was closed said that was her. She was not interested about our concerns and the conversation did not go well. I ordered a french dip and a salad. When the sandwhich came it was burnt to a crisp. The meet was crispy and hard. When I told them I could not eat it they acted like I was in the wrong. French dips are supposed to be tender juicy meat. The kitchen knew what they sent out was horrible and never should have sent it to the table! The salad was not much either. Lettuce and 2 halved cherry tomatoes. Unappetizing at best. I could not take any more. My glucose dropped to 50 and I could not deal with it and left to go back to the room to eat a breakfast bar. My husband went and talked to Vicki at the front desk. He was very upset. She told him she would have food sent to the room. They brought a steak, potatoes and a very nice side salad with better looking lettuce, more cherry tomatoes, carrot slivers and cheese. Vicki came up to check on us. We told her we had stayed here several times and always enjoyed it. We can’t understand what went so wrong this time. We told her we were cancelling our reservation for our return trip. She asked us to reconsider. We told her we would decide in the morning. If we do decide to give the Windsor anther chance it will be because of Vicki

Do not Book this Hotel!! They have ZERO EMPATHY! They will charge you even if you have to cancel due to a HURRICANE! DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! THEY CHARGE YOU IF YO DO NOT CANCEL WITH 3 DAY NOTICE, EVEN DUE TO A HURRICANE!!! From Jessica, the front desk manager, to Cynthia the assistant manager, to Frank, the president of hospitality (who claims he owns the entire hotel and has no higher up), they are ALL RUDE and need EMPATHY TRAINING. I had to cancel my reservation due to a HURRICANE and gave them over 48 hrs notice. Frank was screaming at me and hung up TWICE on me. He claimed the storm will be over two days prior to check in on Sept 28, so he claims as of today, Sept 26 the weather is fine. Umm, he is wrong! So apparently FRANK is not only the president but also a weatherman who knows more than the weather channel. Cynthia was just as rude and even laughed at me, as was Jessica, but Frank being the president having the power to not charge me for the first night stay and he refused. Mind you, the hotel is sold out, so they will use that room anyway. JESSICA, CYNTHIA AND FRANK SHOULD ALL BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES! Also, Frank does have someone he needs to answer to because this hotel is under the Ascend Hotel Collection/Choice hotel. I am on the phone right now making a complaint.
