Disappointing for the price Every place is hurting from lack of staff and it shows. Employees with experience and institutional knowledge are gone and newcomers are unable to keep up. From this hotel, you can walk right into Downtown Disney. Unfortunately, the in-hotel security line was often only staffed by one individual and the queue snaked almost to the hotel lobby. Employees did not know basic information, such as how to find our elevator from the hotel lobby. Pool staff do not enforce a maximum time limit for people saving chairs so families would save chairs in the morning when the pool opened until late in the afternoon. Pool staff merely shrugged their shoulders when asked if something could be done for those who were actually present at the pool. In sum, our stay was disappointing. For such high prices, Disney should be embarrassed.

Great Location, but lower your expections Lets get the obvious out the way. Location is as best as it can be. It has a downtown disney entrance which takes you to most of where the restaurants are. It has it's own disney california adventure entrance and a short walk to the disneyland entrance. The hotel lobby decor is amazing. At check in we were warned about the difficulty to get food if you don't have reservations. We had no problem. We were there Saturday night and was able to get a table for 6 at Naples with a 20 min wait at 6:30 pm. Getting food at both park on Saturday and Sunday wasn't difficult if you plan everything out on the app. We were able to order food within a 30 min arrival window at peak meal times. People are expecting way too much post-pandemic. I understand its no longer what its used to be at the moment because of staffing issues, but isn't that pretty much everywhere else? I had no issues with service in hotel. From the parking agent to the check in agent to anyone we asked for service, they were prompt and courteous. My rating knock is on the room. This is the most expensive property in the area. I expected the room to be a little more "luxury". Our bathroom wall shower faucet was broken. The rain shower had poor water pressure. With it being a disney property, there is pretty much very few disney decor items. Its basically a dated decor. Also, if you were looking for disney movies for the kids in the room, bring your own streaming stick or something. They only have your typical hotel channels. With their disney+ being a hit and the price I'm paying for this room, I kind of expected it to be available in this at least the Grand California Hotel rooms.

Fantasizing about getting some service Crowded, poorly staffed, and lackluster. We booked in March, paying exorbitant rates for a limited occupancy disney experience, only to find the hotel and parks jammed at 100%. Wait for our room was over 5 hrs, way beyond the guaranteed check in time. Front desk just stopped answering the phone after awhile. The whole Disney thing is a scam- - wait until the post-pandemic crowds die down and go somewhere other than a disney hotel.

Lame.No-class staff. Pathetic dining. A circus freak show. Nothing left of the place from when it opened. Was here when it opened. Was here after the renovations and after management changed. Horrible place to take your family or to go for any reason whatsoever. It's 'supposed' to be good, Ya I know ...and it isn't . I hope you take this neutral not-paid-what-to-think review into consideration and don't listen to what they are paid to say about it . I would literally go to walmart to pick new staff if I had to otherwise rehire these people. They have a specific training program that drones them worse than they already are (which is pretty bad...) and they're invasive annoying creepy and general all-around wierdos. For that last reason alone I won't take my family there or anyone else. It was somewhat tolerable when the architect built it...and all that architects original renditions were turned away from shortly after. In many aspects it is actually one of the worst places to stay in southern california, can you guess what two more are . I took one photo to show how horrible the lighting is after the renovations . Most Disney people don't know bout lighting so I'll tell you . Bad lighting not only has short term effects on the mood but also effects the physical health. HORRIBLE lighting. Not everyone would be able to resonate with what I'm saying but if you have options and are are a seasoned traveller with some worldly wise-ness you'll see it and this review is for you and people reasonably open minded . Hilton is so many times better than this place . It's not in the park but it's worth the distance . It's not antisocial like this place .. Disney's 3 hotels are extremely anti social and schizoid. It's not a couple employees...It's bad from the TOP DOWN. There is one plus to the hotel I'll give it credit there. If I ever have really bad inlaws this is where theyre going ;)

It is very convenient For the price, this is not a top hotel room. It is nice but not what you would expect at this price. You are paying for convenience. No robes, slippers, the rooms allow hallway noise, the shower control needs a manual, the room is dimly lit. If I were to build a hotel at the Disneyland property?? Absolutely sound proof the room as most people visiting have young children who need to get to sleep, need a nap or maybe just to sleep in. Not possible with the sounds from the hallway--other guests and employees making noise. Towels are ok not plush. Bedding was good, sheets nice. Check-in took a long time so much time that we abandoned our luggage in line to a bell man to get to our dinner reservation at Storytellers. Food was mehh there. But what are your options?? not much. We will stay here again because it is too convenient to have a room on the property. But our expectations will be lowered for the price. Also I must add, there is not a full-time concierge for hotel guests. A BIG miss for this price point.
