Skip this hotel This hotel is just ignoring all brand requirements. They are supposed to be offering elite benefits and have their lounge open, but they just don’t care. Head down to the Marriott which does offer these benefits. Also my room was quite dirty.

Excellent property, friendly and helpful service This is a lovely property with friendly and helpful reception staff. Due to the pandemic, services are limited. The location is nice, in a quiet area, about two blocks away from the Anchorage Museum, a large mall., the Visitors Center and the main Trolly stop. It is about a 15 minute ride from the airport and my taxi fare was $23.00 On my first visit, I had room #611 which has a nice view of the mountains. The hotel is under the flight path for small sea planes coming in to Merrill Field so there is a lot of activity to watch from the window. The slight noise didn’t bother me. The beds are excellent and all the linens are bright-white and look new. On my second visit, I had room 514 (same view as room 611) which was not as quiet. It is next to the ice machine and noise from pipes seem to be stronger. The lobby restaurant is not open for lunch or dinner due to covid, though an abbreviated room service menu is available. Prices are what you would expect in a hotel in Alaska, plus... a 21% service charge. They do provide breakfast in the restaurant, but I am sorry to say that the hostess and manger need to learn about social distancing. The restaurant is a large room, and they tend to seat people in one small section. When I asked to sit at a booth a little apart from others, I received a lot of pushback. People should be allowed to sit where they feel comfortable. This is the only negative thing that happened while staying at this hotel.

You're Better Off in a Motel 6 The room was very dirty and dingy - several hairs throughout, greasy smudges on the window, multiple dusty surfaces, multiple residue spots, and brown stuff on the unfinished wood tables that stains whatever personal items you set on them. It was so gross that we immediately left to purchase a can of Lysol and cheap king sized sheets from Target after checking in and spent an hour to clean our entire room ourselves. The hallways smell strongly like wet dog. The back parking lot doorway smelled strongly of urine. The hotel is frankly disgusting. There are confrontational homeless people milling about on/near the back of the property where you park. You have to pay daily for the parking and the lot pavement is so rough that you genuinely can't push the flimsy luggage cart through it. Nobody was around to help. I paid extra for a high floor "deluxe" room with an advertised "view" of the harbor. My room had no such view at all. The staff is friendly. The room service food was good, albeit over-priced. Everything else was a disappointment. I felt nickeled and dimed by the Sheraton Hotel at every turn, despite the lackluster accommodations. This is a 2-star, $50/night hotel that was built in 1979 and it shows. Guest experience and cleaning do not matter here. I feel robbed of my $330/night (+ $15/night parking) that I paid.

A fun trip! This was our first time to Alaska and Austin at the front desk couldn’t have made it a more memorable and better stay. We stayed for 4 nights and saw Austin almost every time we passed by the lobby and he was always working with a smile on his face. We definitely can’t wait to come back and visit Alaska again. Kudos to Austin and Alex I believe his name was who worked 2 of the nights for the best customer service! The bed and room were comfy as well. We were disappointed that we couldn’t stay past 1 pm with my status for late checkout but we also understand the hotel is operating with a very small crew considering some other amenities were still closed down.

Will not return to Sheraton's after this experience The hotel was not even in downtown area and to walk from it to the restaurants in the downtown area is not to be done. The area surrounding the hotel is rundown and filled with many homeless and drug use is rampant. There were even some homeless people loitering about their front door. We rented a car just so we could move around the area with relative safety. Aside from that the staff is limited and does not respond even to simple requests of additional towels. The room was dusty and the mirrors streaky with film and dust from an overused cleaning cloth. Someone dropped a tissue in the hallway of our floor and it took three days for someone to pick it up - just inexcusable. Breakfast was the only meal served by their restaurant and it was overpriced. If you are going to stay in Anchorage, this is not the hotel to stay at.
