Great value for money We spent 3 nights at the hotel early august , changed just a couple of weeks before following the favourable reviews. The choice was really right: room large with lot of space for the luggage, clean, average breakfast, and, remarkable for the capital and around, free parking . The neighbourhood seemed to be quiet and safe, the walk to the metro is only 10 minutes. I don't agree with other reviews remarking the long ride by metro to the city centre. We reached the centre in no more than 20 minutes and in addition it's to be considered that Arlington N. Cemetery and Georgetown (Rosslyn station and a short walk crossing the bridge) are a short ride from Ballston metro station. Overall great value for money!

Good hotel at a good price, but a long Metro ride to the capital One of the best attributes of this hotel is the helpfulness of the people at the front desk. Several times we had problems that we brought to them, and every time they helped facilitate an excellent solution. We are grateful to them. The rooms are somewhat older, but in excellent condition, well equipped including microwave and refrigerator, and very clean and quiet. The breakfast is a typical hotel breakfast: Scrambled eggs, sausage or patties, waffles, yogurt, juice, etc. We stayed five nights, finding each day's breakfast an almost identical repeat of the previous day's breakfast, but it was adequate in every way. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the Ballston Metro Station. It's through a nice neighborhood so we didn't mind walking after dark. The shortest way: From the Metro Station go left on Fairfax until Glebe Street, then turn right. The free shuttle to the Metro runs until late morning, then resumes in mid afternoon. They run on time, filling the shuttle to capacity, then depart. I was told they'd also take people to DCA (Reagan Airport). The Metro takes about half an hour to reach DC. There are numerous restaurants around the Metro Station. Summary: Everything about the hotel was acceptable, including the price. We thought about next time staying closer to the capital to save an hour on the Metro each day, but I am sure we'd be spending at least $100 more per night on the hotel, so probably we'll stay here again.

Dated but reasonably priced hotel We stayed at the hotel for a few nights whilst visiting D.C. as it was located close to Arlington National Cemetery, and serviced by the 38B local bus directly into D.C. tip: the SmarTrip App works very well for buses and metro trains all over the Washington Metropolitan Area. Friendly and efficient staff were on hand to help with check-in and advice on travel options, including the free shuttle* to the metro station (*the shuttle is provided on a first come first serve basis and runs at times indicated at reception). Free hot drinks in the lobby was a bonus with a convenient 7-Eleven at the fuel station across the road for emergency snacks. The hotel is a little dated and could do with a freshen up but nothing that detracts from the clean and comfortable room. Hot water was reluctant to show itself from both the taps and shower and had to be run for some time before it finally arrived, possibly due to a long journey from source but worth noting. There is no restaurant other than for breakfast, a serve yourself feast of fruit, toast, cereal, waffles, doughnuts all on paper plates and in plastic cups; reminiscent of a 5 years old child's birthday party – saves on the washing up I guess. Recommended as a base of operations to venture into D.C. via the Metro (20 – 25 minutes via 38B bus) but a little too far out if you need quick access to the city centre.

Close to Metro to DC. Great for Families. So glad I picked this hotel for our DC trip. The shuttle to the train station was wonderful. Train station is walkable as well. Breakfast is good and hotel is quiet. Our room was beautifully appointed, clean and comfortable. Loved the free parking. Staff was friendly and welcoming. A well managed hotel. It’s hard to find hotels that fit families of 5 anymore. Thanks Comfort Inn and Suites for catering to families.
