Beware Tried calling for 2 days to cancel a reservation, phone rings and phone hang up. I called the diamond desk and they mention the hotel won't cancel the reservation. I have never had a gov't rate I couldn't cancel. Due to job changing locations, I needed to cancel and hotel refuses to cancel and is charging me for the room when I gave 1 1/2 months notice. Beware of the hotel.

Beware using the AAA discount... the information on the website is incorrect. I booked a room in this hotel for an out-of-town guest. I chose a rate that offered an AAA discount and a full breakfast. At checkin the agent said the rate didn't include breakfast. Not wanting to make a scene in front of my guest, I let it go. I returned the next day with a screenshot showing the clicks I had made to make the reservation. The agent then rebooked the room at a different rate that included breakfast.

What a Hilton Garden Inn should be-with minor disappointments. A great location. The whole place was very clean, and had friendly staff. Breakfast area was large and you can get cooked to order or have their buffet.Very nice room with comfortable bed. The 6th floor has an outdoor sitting area, but the landscaping was all weeds. Housekeeping is every other day and the breakfast voucher will not even cover a basic breakfast (used to cover more). If none of this bothers you, then this is a great choice!

Great step great service Our stay was excellent. Great location and really nice property. From our pre- trip help and check in, Brandon was exceptionally helpful. We will definitely be back because of his great service. Our room was very clean and it was great because we travel with our dog

No On-Site Parking, No Valet!!! Do not stay at this hotel if you plan to park your car and are disabled. The designated handicapped parking space is across the street on the 4th floor of a public garage that has no direct access to the hotel. When I attempted to point out the fact that the whole purpose of handicapped parking is to provide easy access to a location, to the desk clerk, he looked at me like I had two heads. Frankly, I wouldn’t recommend it for single travelers. While the Shirlington is a fun area, parking garages are notoriously unsafe. If that’s the only parking the hotel is offering they need to have valet. Or at a minimum call out the parking issue during the booking process. And did I mention that your reward for parking offsite is a $25 per night charge?!?! The desk clerk also gave us room keys that didn’t work. When I took them down to be replaced, he handed me back an envelope with 4 key cards…the two that didn’t work in addition to a new one. For the price they are charging, Hilton needs to do much, much better. We stay at Hiltons frequently. In fact, we just spent a week a a Hilton Hampton Inn that was wonderful. This property? Never again.
