Please don't believe everything you read Just returned from an overnight spa break with two friends. We had extremely low expectations as we had read the almost universally terrible reviews. However, our experience was generally very good and indeed sometimes excellent. The three bedrooms we had in the main house were impressive. Everything was clean and well kept and housekeeping, including evening turn down was great. The reception staff were friendly and always helpful. The food was excellent. When we arrived we asked if we could have some scones and tea - despite afternoon tea not being available because of Covid related shortages of staff, they made us some scones freshly, which were delicious. Our evening meal was delicious- vegetarian choices were good. Only complaint was that a party behind us was far too noisy and it would have been good if waiting staff had felt confident enough to ask them to be a little quieter. We knew that breakfast would be continental, as staff shortages were making life difficult for them. This was absolutely fine, good quality and plenty of choice and certainly not meagre portions, lots of butter and preserves available. Lunch when we were leaving was far more substantial than the usual spa lunch and it was served in the main restaurant which was no problem to us. We used the outdoor pool so can't comment on the indoor facilities. Treatments were excellent and the staff were very professional and friendly. My friend had a massage from the male sports therapist and she said it was one of the best she had ever had. So, all in all, it was a really good experience.

Definitely avoid! Fortunately we were a party of 9 that could laugh at the experience we had at Eastwell Manor. We booked an overnight stay to celebrate a friends big birthday and retirement. As no one has been able to get away for a while we had been looking forward to the break and "mini holiday". The concerns we raised: The rooms were very small and there were issues in most of them: Bathroom door didn't close / to big. Dirty water glasses. Blinds broken. Tap fixtures missing / broken. Window openings broken. The service in the restaurant was slow and the food poor: Food not very hot. Rib eye steak very gristly and chewy. No salt in salt cellars. Food bland and not seasoned. Had to ask numerous times for more water/tea/coffee/butter for the table. Portion size for yoghurt laughable - came in very small bowl that would be used for jam. Avacado looked liquidize/pureed and inedible. The service was very very slow and we were never asked how the food was or if we needed anything. The spa: The hydro pool was very cold. The relaxation room was cold. No tea/coffee available in the spa and very few water stations. Spa resturant closed for lunch on our second day, so we had to dress to go to the manor resturant, cutting sort our time in the spa, and concerns re the quality of lunch as dinner the previous evening had been very poor. Over all our experience at Eastwell Manor was very poor and a disappointment. A number of our party have been to Eastwell Manor a number of times, and since it has been taken over by Champneys the value for money and service has deteriated. We did voice our concerns at check out, but we feel nothing will be done to rectify the points made. We heard a number of people complaining at check out. Please consider carefully before booking a spa break and if considering having your wedding here.....there are alot of places locally that are probably cheaper and offer a better and more personal service.

AFTERNOON TEA AT EASTWELL MANNOR After booking afternoon tea 2 weeks in advance and driving 1 hour to enjoy our afternoon we were informed our booking had been cancelled and we should have been contacted and an email would have been sent, I discovered they had the wrong email address and no one had made contact. We were offered a bar meal to the value of the voucher which we declined. We asked for our money back £60.00 and asked the manager to contact us. I contacted the reception as he didn't return my calls as he was busy in meetings. We were made to feel as if it was our fault when clearly it was not. I would not recommend this place and was extremely disappointed with the way we were treated.

Do not book ! We were looking forward to a lovely few days of relaxation at Eastwell but we were largely dissatisfied. Our room had a blind that wouldn’t open and a missing handle on tap and no soap The spa pool was so cold as was the hydro pool not at all relaxing The service in the restaurant was poor and food hit and miss I ordered yogurt for breakfast and it arrived in the tiniest dish and no jams, marmalade’s or butter with the toast The massage I had was enjoyable thank goodness but would be nice to be offered a choice of a man or lady masseur as I know my friends would have declined massage by a male Needless to say they have lost 9 customers who will not be returning !

Wonderful spa stay My mum and I booked a spa stay for my birthday at Eastwell Manor last month but had an overall disappointing experience, mostly due to poor customer service and lack of trained staff. However, after providing feedback regarding our first stay, we were offered a complimentary stay and I can't express enough how much we enjoyed ourselves the second time. We noticed a significant improvement in the customer service and did not have to wait too long for food service, unlike the first visit. Although the room had a lot of dust and cobwebs, we were very impressed by the Manor Suite we stayed in. The bed was really comfortable - we had a great night’s sleep, the bath tub was a treat, and the views were beautiful. We noticed a huge improvement in the service at dinner, breakfast, and lunch. The waiting staff were much more attentive and food was served in a timely manner. The food was delicious and presented very nicely. The spa facilities do not have the 'wow' factor you would expect with a luxury spa and we thought it was overpriced but we do recommend booking a spa treatment with therapists Aimee and Gary. They were both brilliant!
