Awful stay Hotel was tired and in need of an update. Check in experience was good. Not a place for family or couples, lots of drunkenness and rowdiness in common areas and the rooms. Terrible customer service at checkout, they are not interested to hear about your experience.

hour long check in! I showed up at about 4PM ready to check in but saw there was a long line so I tried the mobile check in option they offered. Once the hour elapsed for that check in to happen I had not received a mobile key. I called to ask why I hadn't received a mobile keky and they informed the that only elite tier members could check in via mobile key. at this point in time I had spent the last 65 days in a marriott hotel. I then waited in line for an hour just to receive the key to my room. I understand places get busy when there are conventions in town. If you know you hae a convention coming into town it is probably pretty wise to up your staff. But I'm not a marriott employee so what do I know about management. The only reason I would go back to this hotel is if the world were on fire and it was the only place to sleep. Be wise. Go elsewhere. Oh by the way they charge $50 a night per car to park in their valet only parking deck. Truthfully the worst customer service I have ever received.

Not worth the stay If not for the staff, this hotel would have no ratings. The rugs throughout were filthy and dated. The guest room had mold on the vents and no extra supplies even by request. The valet lines were literally several blocks long causing a traffic issue. The check in line took an hour or more to be assisted. Pass on this Marriott if in Atlanta.

4.5 Stars!! Currently staying here and my husband and I have enjoyed this Marriott property. I had read so many bad reviews and think that people are way too critical these days! I am VERY picky about our hotels and have been pleasantly surprised by this property. We have been Bonvoy members for years and always put our trust in the Marriott brand. First off, every staff member has been so friendly and helpful ( from the front desk to housekeeping) I can't say enough about the wonderful staff we have encountered! Yes, we are in the middle of a pandemic and they are probably short staffed, like everywhere else. Short staffed or not, I think they are doing the best they can and people need to have some patience! I have constantly seen housekeeping vacuuming and cleaning. I have seen maintenance working. Their employees are working hard to keep up with this massive property! Our room was clean and smelled good on arrival. There were some odd stains on the carpet, but nothing that we needed to change rooms for. When I saw the housekeeper (who was so sweet) she told me that she had reported the stains and it would be cleaned when we left. I like the design of the rooms and the bed is comfortable! We have had plenty of clean towels. The architecture of this hotel is so unique! The gym is great!!! The pool area is nice and maintained! Starbucks is great and the women that work there are quick and always smiling! The only reason I give it 4.5 stars is for some wear and tear and I feel like the brown carpet makes the hotel look a little dark and old. Nothing major. I would definitely stay here again!

Won't Be Back Unless Vast Improvements Stayed here 2 yrs ago and the experience was so great I raved about it. Brought my daughters & my mother for a weekend getaway and the entire experience was just disappointing. Arriving at 5 pm and told our room was "not ready" and to go get dinner ( we already ate & did not know the area). Suggestion - The right thing to do here was give us vouchers or hotel credit for High Velocity or The Market. So with no place to go, we waited in the lobby until 7:15pm because we were told someone would let us know when it was ready. With our kids sleeping on lobby floor, FINALLY decided to ask for someone to check on our room ( couldn't find the woman who helped us two hours earlier) and told by front desk staff - oh it's been ready. Seriously??! And the lobby was clearly not ready for guests. Pulse bar lounge closed , Starbucks & Sear closed. A homeless man was continually riding the lobby escalators in circles. Staff was nice and tried their best but someone is clearly over- working their staff. Called the Front Desk for various needs each day - no one ever picked up phones. Asked for extra towels on the App, never arrived. Very nice Bellhop helped us out later. Pool area - dead plants, pool counter not open for service. Our room was clean & no problems. But the common areas reeked of marijuana and carpets stained, dirty tables, chairs. Again, I think the staff can not keep up with the demand. Or hotel is greatly understaffed. For the prices Marriot charges, the services have to improve. It's Covid and we understand, but you should not promise guests an experience and then not deliver. It'd be better to advertise that it won't be the same as in the past- a half closed hotel, with very limited service , and check in will be after 7. Beautiful hotel that just has gone rapidly downhill and I feel bad for the friendly staff that clearly can not keep up with amount of guests being booked.
