Guest of Delta Got in late after delayed flight. Hotel was ok, but looked tired and in need of a do-over. Could not understand why they had put an ancient 50's looking space hogging chaise in the middle of the room. Stayed on the club level 1111.

Do not stay here I only write reviews for positive experiences for hotel stays but felt compelled to write a negative review because of how bad this experience was. I travel frequently and am very loyal to Starwood brands staying at all their hotels from W, Westin, Sheraton, Four points, aloft etc. In my 10 years of business travel this may have been my worst stay. Reasons why my stay was so bad 1) staff wasn't very friendly 2) rug on my hotel floor smelt like mildew 3 the "free" water bottle in my room was open and half empty 4) the shower head filter couldn't be adjusted and water went everywhere 5) the bar didn't serve food and had a buffet that looked inedible at best 6) hotel was old and dirty If I didn't get in so late at night and had an early flight I would have left and found a new hotel. Would not recommend staying here and Starwood should do something about this hotel.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE Horrible, horrible hotel. I gave up my seat on Delta and had to lay over for a morning flight. Although Delta told me they would provide me with a hotel, I told them I would prefer to book my own since I know the airlines pick very cheap hotels. They said since I was a first class passenger I would get a Marriott, Sheraton or Hyatt hotel I was satisfied with that but said if I cannot get a Marriott or Sheraton , please do not book me a room. After the plane departed they stated would put me up at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel. I was very happy that they chose a Sheraton and went on my way. Upon arrival at the hotel there was 60+ Motorcycles at the entrance of the hotel include the sidewalk of the entrance. I think would have been ok but the fact the hotel allowed the group to Party at the entrance with loud music, drinking an dancing really bothered me but was willing to let it go since it was a Sheraton first impression. As a Platinum member of Sheraton I provided my Delta Certificate and have to say the front staff was not dressed to a Sheraton standard and rude as all hell. I tried to give my Platinum number so I could get the club room access and the young lady basically ignored me and the other front desk clerk tried to explain I would not get points. I told him that is clearly understood but would like the club room benefits. The front desk clerk did not even look at me and ignored my request for my platinum status to be put in the reservation. When she handed me a Platinum folder I assumed she did something in the reservation to allow access. Again, the rudest staff I have ever encountered. I went to my room and the decor was equal to a motel 6 and room was hot, the air conditioning did not work well and could not get the room cool. Decided to go downstairs to get a cigarette and since the bikers were partying all over the front entrance I walked to the side of the front enterance, subsequently a manager came up to me waving his finger saying I cannot smoke in this spot. I basically tole him you are kidding me, get out of my face if you will allow this activity you will allow me to smoke here, especially since the bikers were partying right at the smoking area, dancing, drinking and blasting music. Next I t ried to get into the club room and my card would not give me access. I had to go down to get a new key, and again they were rude. They club room was the only nice thing about the hotel and the staff in the club room were great. Another point, only 2 out of the 4 elevators were working and at times took 8 minutes to get an elevator. Tried to sleep that night but was so hot I gave up and took a sleeping pill. This is the worst hotel I have every stayed at with a Sheraton name. I contact a friend who works at the Sheraton NY and sent her a video of the activities going on in the front of the hotel as well as the fire hazard with all the bikes at the entrance. Really a shame, more like a Motel 6 or Red Roof Inn than a Sheraton brand. Never , never stay here, not worth more than 69 dollars if that much and maybe if you ask me free which was in my case. Sheraton should take their name off this hotel. I posted the video on Facebook and called the Sheraton Corporate headquarters.

Sheraton Atlanta Airport is closing Not a review of a stay at this property, just an alert for this forum. Email notification dated July 7, 2017 that a reservation I have (had) at this Sheraton will be canceled. According to the email, the property will cease to be a hotel as of July 23, 2017. "With this change you will not be able to stay at the soon-to-be former Sheraton..." To Sheraton's credit, the reservation has been transferred without other change to the nearby Westin which seems to offer all the amenities I expected from Sheraton. I have confirmed the reservations with Westin, so the travel plans will not be affected. ... and so it goes.

It's OK Honestly: the hotel is outdated. Everything is old in this hotel. Check-in was so,so. The lady not even looked at me once. Rooms are OK but you can see the age of the room in many places. Service at restaurant was okayish. I decided you have dinner at Ruby Tuesday (just two minute walk from the hotel). concierge was great - he managed to shuttle us directly to international terminal (saved a lot of hassle walking around with a huge number of bags). In general: I have stayed in nicer Sheratons. This hotels needs renovation big time!
