Hotel leaving Marriott I received an email from Marriott on Jul 23 that the hotel is leaving Marriott on Jul 30 and all Marriott benefits will not be honored. Oddly, I can't find any news item announcing this change. I have stayed here more than half a dozen times, including in the Extreme Wow suite and did enjoy the suites.

Stop using COVID as an excuse. When we went into our room for the first time we found that the left bathroom light was out. That should never happen. It took quite a while until a repairman fixed the light. The room was clearly reserved for two, yet there was one robe and just 3 towels. We never did get the second robe, but we did get the towels quickly. There was no soap or cups in the room when we arrived. The excuse was COVID. We are tired of the excuse and there is no reason that plastic sealed cups weren't in the room nor soap, particularly since all the shower items were in the room, COVID or no COVID. We went through several sets of keys. It seemed as though every time we unlocked the door during the first 2 days of our stay that the lock opened and erased our keys. I received a key on my phone, but it only worked once. The rest of the time whatever was sent didn't work. My wife was logged into my account on her phone and while she was able to request towels on the app, the mobile key never arrived. We understand that for a long time COVID stopped dining room service, but that has long past and you're still not serving breakfast in a normal way, despite the fact most people, when they pick up their breakfast, sit down at the tables near the bar and have breakfast. I have no idea where the kitchen is that's preparing the food, but after waiting 45 minutes for the breakfast food to arrive, it was ice cold. We never ate breakfast in the hotel again. It wasn't worth it. The food, by the way, was tasteless. The valet parking was always full which is absurd, so we were forced to park in the lot which was ridiculously expensive and the poor signage meant it took us 35 minutes to find the entrance to the hotel the first time we were in the lot. Not a single person we asked in the garage knew where the entrance was. That's an easy fix that should have been accomplished a long time ago. When it's about 90F and humid outside, your hallways get horribly hot and humid, yet you had no air conditioning on in the hallways. The minute you got off the elevator you were hit by a heat wave. By the time you got to the room you were sweaty. Finally, the elevator security system was down the entire time we were there. That made us less secure since anyone could get to any floor, including those who were not staying in the hotel. One more thing. The pandemic has been with us for about a year and a half. It's about time that you figure things out and stop excusing every problem you have on COVID. The light being out in the bathroom and the lack of cups and soap, the keys that died, the mobile key that never arrived, the cold food, the non-existent garage signage, the hot hallways and the non-functioning elevator security system cannot be blamed on COVID.

The W We choose this location for a weekend getaway to Atlanta. Its a decent hotel for the price. There needs to be some updates to the hotel, but the overall experience was good. Staff was excellent in addressing concerns during our stay. I would stay again if in the area.

WHAT A GREAT STAY Stayed at this hotel two nights for a wedding that my family and I were attending. This hotel is great. David, one of the bellman, is fantastic. Everyone from check-in to check-out were very friendly. Lobby has such a chic design to it. Rooms were very clean; beds very comfortable. Service from the workers (either housekeeping to bring towels up or maintenance coming up due to batteries dying in our smoke alarm) were exceptionally quick. We had a Double Queen room on the 26th floor, view was very nice facing both midtown and downtown in the distance. We traveled from NJ; this was our first time in Atlanta. Midtown is such a great area, not in the hustle and bustle but close enough to attractions. We will be back in the future and we will choose this hotel again. What a great experience!

Why……. Ok - so gave this hotel a chance even with the horrible reviews. I mean, cmon W…I am a huge fan of the W concept and a platinum Marriott member. Pandemic aside, this W property is an exception. Shut it down and fix issues instead of keeping this place open. I get that it’s hard to find people to work these days, but where has the Marriott sense of pride gone? The service is horrible, the rooms smell weird (I even switched), it’s a shame. You guys make me want to switch loyalty brands. Get it together. From staying at W hotels around the world, I think I am over it. All of them keep disappointing. W Atlanta midtown maybe put it over the edge.
