Super 8 by Wyndham Austin Downtown/Capitol Area

Super 8 with a team that makes it great! Hey my name is Dion, and my lease expired at the end of June. All of my transition from my old, to new place, Diana, the Red Hair lady, and the handsome white, and Indian gentleman were so understanding and pleasant and know the area! loved them all so much and them being able to make online reservations and extend my stay when I needed they made it what it was and I couldn't be more thankfully! Even the white gentleman, saw me and my husband fighting outside, it was ugly life happens and he was super subtle and understanding and supportive. Nonverbal communication, is communication and it goes a long way _ was definitely a highlight of my stay! I recommend this Super 8 to anyone best prices in Austin for a hotel in my opinion unless you have some voucher or know someone. The breakfast is a lot to be desired I don't think I ever really learned how to get the waffles to stay together in the iron lol maybe one day _ they also have yogurt, cereal, Frosted Flakes because YES, and Raisin Brand, with 2%, and oat milk substitutes for people who have diary issues, and a juice dispenser! So yeah wanted to give people who stay a realistic expectation, it is small for breakfast but the service, and surrounding restaurants ones in H-E-B shopping centers, Hancock, and Mueller, along with Capital Plaza, you have a lot of cheap options around, and they definitely are still growing! The team is small as well, somethings you will have to wait for they have a ICE machine down the alley, with a vending machine that has reasonably priced things, FOR CONVENIENCE only in my opinion, is nice as a one time things but you were surrounded by two shopping centers that has a dollar tree and H-E-B in it which has very fair prices. They're not Walmart prices lol but don't buy more than two bags of chips because you will affectively spend the same amount of money buying a big bag from my grocery store! Soooooo do with that information what you will! The team is what makes the hotel what it is without a doubt when there is another event in Austin I am most definitely staying at this Super 8! PSA: for the Wi-Fi, this is a very special case that probably my most trying thing at the hotel as well. There are some appliances that will allow you to connect to it as long as you're able to pull up the registration screen or browser and or window that will pop up, the log screen they have the password in the lobby, however certain appliances like a Nintendo switch specifically you might have to get the teams approval or have someone contact the department to get your device to be listed. I am hoping that that can be addressed in the future because I kind of just wasn't able to use it with the Wi-Fi, but that didn't stop or anything for me specifically if you were having trouble with connecting to the Internet via iPhone specifically when you connect to super 8 guest Wi-Fi SPECIFICALLY!! This is important because there is another unprotected Wi-Fi access point called super 8 guest. This is Wi-Fi that will steal your information so please be careful it's so painfully obvious, but to the few people who do not have time Look at the names I want to protect you here because I don't wish identity theft problems on anyone. Everything else was a treat great rooms. I think they're still renovating some of the restrooms because none of the bathrooms of the three rooms I stayed in looks the same but that's not bad just aesthetics differences I noticed! Ok considering there is great access to the main highway offer something fresh for breakfast, perhaps cinnamon rolls or fresh pastry and fruit if you can't manage hot food

Horrible Do NOT stay at this motel they will scam you. The rooms are nasty and dirty the pool is nasty and foggy. There was roaches in the first one but we Ignored that and nicely asked for another room due to the dirtiness and was charged for two rooms!

Horrible check in I chose this location because it has a pool breakfast and walking distance to 6th street. However check in was a nightmare. After paying with my cc they told me I can’t check in because they ‘lost the charge on file’ and wanted to swipe my card a second time. I refused and they refused to let me into a room. I sat on the phone with my bank and hotels.com trying to resolve the issue because my card showed I was definitely charged. After three hours they finally let me into my room and told me not to go to sleep until they could fix their own error. I was exhausted and had a flight to catch this was not worth the $20 or so I saved by choosing a cheaper hotel.

Stay here if you plan on being murdered This place honestly looks like something out of a horror movie. Complete with mould, dead bugs and damaged furniture! The atmosphere was like nothing I’ve experienced before, we weren’t expecting luxury by any means but wow my husband and I were unable to stay here after entering the room. I didn’t sample the bed myself but my husband sat in the middle and nearly hit the floor before shifting to the end which was literally a good foot taller than the rest of the bed_! The hotel said they were unable to provide us with a refund and advised that we go through booking.com who we had booked with which we did however when b.com contacted the property they said we had stayed the full time as planned thankfully the other hotel we had to book last minute was able to vouch for our attendance. Currently in the process of trying to get some sort of refund however I would’ve paid the £150 again to have not stayed here.
