SHHHH! Keep it a secret! Best of the best. Always great experience. Raquel in food service was OUTSTANDING. Loved seeing her every morning with her big smile and friendly welcome. Whole property clean and well maintained. Pool was perfect as the beach was crowded! Keep this gem just between us. Too precious to ruin with too many tourists.

A Perfect Place to Stay with Family This place is a great family hotel. It is well maintained and in a perfect location in Avila Beach. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable, even the sofa bed. There is a lovely pool, huge checker game and ping pong table. Breakfast is included and it is set up buffet style with hot food in chafing dishes like scrambled eggs and potatoes. There is also cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit and a variety of breads. It is nothing special but works for large groups. The hotel is directly across the street from the beach and the hotel provides beach toys and boogie boards but no beach towels. The staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place for a fun getaway.

Amazing, long ago recommended by a friend! Clean towels and linens, delicious cookies and wonderful service, worth the splurge and our kids keep asking for more. Most of all, the area attractions are priceless. We can't wait to explore some more. The beach is beautiful and there's so much to see. Perhaps we'll try surfing lessons next.

Best hotel room coffee. Outstanding room and amenities. Room coffee maker with TAYST coffee roaster is the best I’ve had in this type of machine. Staff here is very helpful. Breakfast is typical budget hotel fare but this is high end hotel. No kitchen here but ingredients need to be upgraded.

Overall a nice hotel and location! I read Trip Advisor reviews as I plan each trip and love reading the good and not so good so we are prepared. We recently stayed at the Avila Lighthouse Suites hotel for 2 nights. We were there during a busy weekend and the price was about double the usual rate for the room (that is on us though for sure and normal for the area in busy weekends) and different than what I was quoted on the phone when trying to book really fair in advance which was my fault for not getting it in writing but also an issue I think regarding pricing structure. if booking for grad weekend far in advance get the pricing in writing for sure. We got an ocean front (so overlooked the parking lot and then the ocean) second floor 2 queen bed suite. Beds were very comfortable and firm-one of the best we've had at a hotel. Our coffee maker didn't work and wasn't repaired correctly so never worked during the stay and the refrigerator was off kilter so hard to open and close without things inside moving around. The bathroom was clean and had on the wall soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers-though these were very hard to use and took a huge amount of strength the squeeze. Bathroom als had a blowdryer, extra roll of TP, and a soap bar. No qtips or cotton balls or the like. Anyone older or younger without stellar grip strength would not have been able to operate the dispensers however. The breakfast was good (think B/B+) overall with lots of choices for all of us both hot and cold. The one downside was only having 2% mild option for cereals. Coffee was ok per my husband. Open 7-10 so hard if you are leaving the area earlier for an event. The ice dispenser dispenses the little cube ice which is awesome and there are cookies onsite at the reception area in the afternoons I think. The grounds are well kept and the area seems safe. Our view of the ocean was ok-you actually overlook a parking lot and the beach in the background. The railings at the hotel balcony. obscure the view a bit as do the shutters in the room that don't actually open back all the way which was a big bummer. There were USB charging plugs on the nightstand and the taffy and wine bottle were a cute addition. We didn't use any of the onsite amenities such as the beach gear or bikes so cannot report on those. Probably great for families with small kids who want to walk to the beach and utilize the beach gear they provide and not drive anywhere. The sitting area which is somewhat separate from the room has a couch (pull out) and TV so parents could utilize that space for hanging out after kids go to bed or early in the am before they wake and not wake up the littles. Overall a nice and clean hotel but probably not worth the premium on a popular weekend and I'd probably forgo the ocean view room as well in the future at this hotel.
