Leave the outside world behind and reconnect This resort was spectacular. From check in to check out, we had a remarkable experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautiful. The resort was beautiful. The food was excellent. The best part, was being so surrounded by nature that we were able to leave the outside world behind even for the few days we were there and reconnect as a family.

Amazing place, amazing staff!! Best experience with the family! We have a family of 5 - teen and tweenagers - and we ALL had an incredible time. The service was unbelievable from everyone from the moment we arrived. Mike was amazing and took very good care of us, as did Jimmy. Estephen, Bryan, and Jose were our guides for zip lining, archery and the waterfall activities. They were funny, engaging and the kids (and us adults) enjoyed our time with them. Estephanie did our coffee tasting session and we loved every minute. I know we are missing some names (like Alejandro and a few others!) but I can say everyone really was incredible and the experience of staying in the cloud forest at El Silencio was top notch. Just the waterfalls on property are worth the stay. The hot tub was a hit, the rooms were spacious and extremely clean (thank you Jacqueline!) and the food was amazing on top of it all. Definitely would recommend this place!

Not the stay we were hoping for It is a cold-hearted resort; we were hoping for so much more, having stayed at a similar set-up at Pacaure Lodge and loved it. Our room was lovely, and the grounds are fantastic, but the hotel needs to learn that this is not what makes a trip amazing. From hiring bikes to any activities, including a night walk, everything cost money. Food not Costa Rican and was mediocre and cost a fortune and youre trapped there so can't go anywhere else - why not include in a package cost?,Breakfast is $35 a glass of wine $20. Room service orders were incorrect and small portioned. We were staying in the most expensive lodge available, but it was cleaned once in our 3-night stay . 3 thin slices of orange were there for us when we arrived (for 4 of us) - no fruit bowl etc as is normal at this accommodation cost level. We asked for our hot tubs to be turned down slightly as they were too hot to sit in. They were turned to cold, and despite us asking several times and chasing up, they were never turned back on. It felt like a money generating place with no feeling etc

Up in the clouds! We ended our trip at El Silencio, which made it even harder to go home. Our stay was top-quality. From checking in to all the personal touches and saying goodbye, we were treated incredibly well. The hotel's location is incomparable to other rainforests due to its height and the work the hotel is doing to preserve the area. The hotel's quality is represented in its pricing, but it is all worth it. The team were amazing, and the hotel was breathtaking.

The NOISIEST most mis managed resort ever. Sad. Such a beautiful area. What a waste of this beautiful place. See for yourself in my video on U tube titled “El Silencio Lodge Spa - FULL REVIEW on channel Michaelf50. Ended up the noisiest hotel experience of our life and to this this is a SPA named El Silencio with a Relaix Chateau endorsement. Constant noise and a total disregard for the customer experience. The serving staff was great. Food was great. But this is just poor management. Not only Construction projects, but loud gas blowers, weed eaters, gas power washers and at all times of the day. We had a $400 dinner at 8pm and there were saws and hammers STILL working 15’ away. We couldn’t believe it! They chose to deep clean the pool in the middle of the day - WHY? - they chose to saw material net to our lunch by the stream so close the sawdust was drifting over our table. We could hear backpack gas blowers from our porch. We voiced our concerns to management the first day and they assured us they would make changes for the remaining days of our stay and it only got worse. Tractors. There is a construction warehouse in the MIDDLE of the resort. I honestly am sad that the management is making choices like this with no priority given to protect the serene nature of this place and the customer experience. Our backyard in the middle of houston is WAY quieter and more relaxing. They have so much potential. Great hikes, great masseuses, great horseback rides and a great serving staff that are all compromised by the relentless noise. When is the last time you stayed at any 5 star resort with a saw next to your table- deep washing windows during lunch - power washing the pool at 1pm- or hammering in the dining room???? Never. I just don’t get it. I pray they get the message and make the changes that they need to do - before they lose their reputation. Their name is El Silencio!
