Hampton Inn & Suites Bakersfield/Hwy 58, CA

Never experienced anything like this! We stayed at this hotel for 1 night as a stopover during our road trip through America. After getting settled in the room, we found at 10 PM that the toilet was clogged. The "helpful" manager at the front desk refused all help. The only solution he had was either a new room (but that was not an option as our 2 children were exhausted) or I had to unclog the toilet myself and accept a 15% discount. He didn't want to unclog the toilet himself, as a manager should. After an endless discussion, I decided to unclog the toilet myself. They are shameless at Hamptin Inn Bakersfield.

Uncaring and unprofessional We arrived with a bus load of people on a group tour. We arrived late for a quick stopover before heading to LA for a tour of Warner Brothers Studios. We needed to depart at 6:45 and being every Hampton starts breakfast at 6 it should have allowed plenty of time. Every Hampton BUT THIS ONE. They called us at 1:10 AM ... I repeat 1 10 AM ... to tell us it started at 6:30. When I talked to the front desk at 5:30 they said their manager decided 6:30. They said they would try to get someone in early. When the woman arrived after 6 it was obvious they did not care. 6:30 came and went and the woman was still not ready and appeared to be annoyed and moving in slow motion. This is my business. My customers had to try to wolf down food or take it on the bus. My bus drivers didn't get to eat at all. The front desk was very dismissive. We spend a lot of money on Hampton Inns. This one should be avoided

Breakfast was BS!!! If I could rate 0 stars I would. The service was TERRIBLE. My party was in a rush to leave in the morning and breakfast was at 6:30!!! EVERY HAMPTON INN IN THE US HAS BREAKFAST AT 6:00. The lady opening breakfast was purposely procrastinating and whispering insults in Spanish.

Would not recommend. Where to start, this place has a floor mat when walking in that says making you happy makes us happy. Above the front desk it has a sign that says smile. Upon arriving 5/28 around 2 pm I picked my room close to the side door and my app key did not work in the side door. Although my app did state the from was ready to go. I had to haul all my bags around to the front the wonderful women at the front desk with the biggest snarl on her face told me walk down to your room and if it still does not open come back and I’ll give you a physical key card absolutely absurd. I did it, and of course it did not work. I am finally able to obtain access to room 101 and the AC worked great room was the temp of Antarctica! The bathtub did not drain taking a shower with water up to my ankles was fun, the fridge would not get cold enough to keep anything in it, there was no water pressure and my last night the TV stopped working. This would have been fine except for the 20 tweakers in the room across from me would not stop pounding on the walls all night and the TV noise was the only thing to overcome all of their racket. I called the front desk about the TV and was told to unplug it and plug it back in. I did try this but nope that didn’t work. Finally fed up I asked for another room. I was given 229. This was better but now having to go to the lobby at 9pm with all my S*** again and now there were little buckets everywhere on the ground as the ceiling was leaking so not surprised, Of course the next girl was rude does not apologize or even speak to me just lays the card keys down and said here you go it’s Room 229. This room was better, but I would not stay here ever again! The breakfast was good in the morning but this is the only positive about this hotel. It’s off the beaten path and in a very sketchy part of Bakersfield given the tweakers that stay here I was surprised my BMW was still in tact outside upon leaving.also the room does not have USB ports so bring an adapter with you.

Disappointed The hotel is run down. The room had strange smell and we could hear the people in the room above our room walking around. The sink didn’t drain properly and the AC/heater was rather noisy. Very disappointing.
