Red Oaks ___❤️ Just spent a fantastic night in Red Oaks house at Galgorm celebrating a 50th birthday.
What a brilliant house for a special occasion, everything you could need including hot tub, sauna, bbq facilities and a house with the biggest wow factor and views!!
The lovely Helen met us on arrival and showed us around, then came back on our departure and made sure everything had been ok for us, there were absolutely no complaints!
We paid £30 per person to use the thermal village and just had to make a call to be collected and left back to the house both on our first day and also this morning,
It was lovely also having the large private hot tub at the house and everything you could possibly need in the house.
We cannot wait to visit again!

The Galgorm Experience From arrival to departure the 'excellence' is there. Everything is well thought out for guests. The Galgorm gives you the feel good factor even if you don't go for treatments. Breakfast at Gillies is superb and the staff not only in the restaurant but throughout, are courteous, helpful, friendly and efficient.

Flooded bathroom, ignored by staff, disgraceful We have just returned from a stay in Forest Den 3 on Sunday 4th August, and although I made the business aware of everything, both while there and upon check out we received a call from the manager while driving and so couldnt answer although we returned the call back, they were not in and they were apparantly going to call back, nothing from them, rang again, nothing, rang and asked to speak to another manager "all are in meetings was the reply" and they would call back.
Have since sent two three emails with no response, just being ignored by the galgorm!
Having stayed in the hotel and shephards huts many many times, on occassions once per quarter sometimes more, we were excited to try the dens and booked for my birthday back in June to stay on my birthday on sunday.
Check in was smooth with great service from the team, when we parked the car however this is were it went downhill.
The path to the dens isnt fit to pull a suitcase and mine ended up filthy and it was a long distance to walk which we hadnt expected.
No one informed us how far the walk was and with it being raining they may have offered to bring our bags but unfortunately not.
Once arriving at the den and using the qr code to watch the instruction video for the sauna etc we rang 888 as there was no fire log or means to light other than wet matches and some kindling, and we were told it would be there shortly, one hour later it hadnt arrived and so we rang ago only for no one to answer the phone.
We then left to use the spa, which was a complete shock as the walk was very far, through the forest, across a path at a field, over a bridge, along another long path,it was very wet and we had to walk through numerous puddles leaving our feet covered in mud and debris.
The spa was as usual lovely, but we wanted to try the sauna in the den and knew we had a very far walk and so only spent around 2 hours in it to return to the den to expect to find that fire logs had been left as promised.
No fire logs has been left, we tried to ring several times again with no answer. The walk back to the spa was a no as it was too far and our day was at this stage turning into something unenjoyable.
Pointless to have paid for somewhere with a sauna and hot bath if we couldnt light it?
We got ready for dinner and rang 888 who now answered and we asked to arrange lift, the lift came and we explained to the nice driver about the issues, he said he would follow up the fire logs etc
Dinner was below par, wrong meals brought out, chips frozen and main etc not the best.
I went to ask the waiter if we could place the food bill onto the room as we were finished and were going to try and enjoy the rest of evening in the bar, they were asking how the food was and I replied that it wasnt the best, not making a complaint but having a conversation, behind them suddenly appeared the manager "Milena" who then demanded to know why it wasnt the best, I replied the quality was poor, to which she said that "the menu provides something for all budgets and bang bang chicken is one of the lesser meals", she then continued to ask me in detail which parts we didnt like, that this was the first complaint she had had (note-I actually wasnt complaining, she appeared and assumed, and then became quite confrontational)
She continued to ask me to pay by card when I said again I was placing the bill onto the room etc
I had to ask her to stop questioning me and to complete the bill so I could sign it and try and enjoy the rest of the evening,
Later it emerged that Milena had also shouted to my partner "Excuse me sir where are you going"as he went to use the rest rooms, which I cant understand as it was pretty evident he was going to the bathrooms not should he have been addressed like this.
The bar was as usual lovely, we then had a lift back to the bridge and a wet walk back to the den in the rain.
Upon arriving back we discovered the toilet was leaking when flushed and water etc flooding from the base onto the floor, further adding to the over all disaster of a stay.
We dried it and at this stage were too exhausted to try and get any support and so we did not use the toilet again, in the morning it was still flooding with water coming from the base soaking the entire bathroom floor, and the toilet itself was unstable.
The dens although nice are very small with no where to put case clothing etc, having to shimmy past the other person, the room is unbearably hot at night with no instruction manuel to tell you how to use the aircon (which we only discovered at 3 am when we couldnt cope any longer)
The bed is in a position you have to jump over the other to get out etc
I think this all should have been communicated but it really isnt big enough to be enjoyable its suffocating.
The radiator also fell off below the window, we tried to lift it back on several times with no luck.
We usually go to the spa every morning before check out, but the distance to walk meant we couldnt as our robes were soaked and we felt too let down by the whole experience and honestly we wanted to leave asap.
We couldnt use half of the facilities in the den and it really was a horrendous experience

Forest den in Galgorm We stayed in a forest den in Galgorm which is a really nice unique experience . It had its own hot tub and sauna aswell as an outdoor shower all overlooking the river . The thermal village was fairly packed but we didn't mind as we had our own facilities at our den . A really nice reset . The staff are amazing and even though it was extremely busy the service was very prompt . Only downside is it is fairly expensive to eat and drink more so than anywhere I've ever stayed . Overall a great experience .
