Don't stay there Dirty and out dated. Son came home with spots on his arms. I can only guess what they are from and my guess is likely right. Hairs on night stand. All channels on TV fuzzy. Dirty bath mat. Mold/dirty tub tiles, cobwebs behind door, coffee rings on window sill etc. When I spoke to lady at desk about housekeeping etc her response was we don't clean while you are there. I said it was bad when we arrived. She said nothing. Priced high quality poor

An older motel with golden staff! An older motel with staff as good as gold.
My wife (who is disabled) and I day tripped up to Bancroft to explore the area as well as her health would permit. We stayed at the Sword inn for 2 nights.
I help my wife with her healthcare including her therapeutic exercises and the swimming pool here proved to be excellent for her needs.
One particular staff member, Rhonda at the desk, proved to be an angel as she assisted my wife with getting through the pool change room. Rhonda went well above and beyond what her job description entailed!
The rooms are clean but starting to show their age. Carpets and curtains could definitely use refreshing as could the mattresses. The morning breakfast is more of a continental style but it is sufficient.
All in all, if we visit Bancroft again in the future I know my wife will enjoy the swimming pool and the sauna once again.

Good sled trip motel spot Great motel for sledding trip with friend. Yes the room may be a bit outdated, however they were clean, comfortable and all the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful. Sleds got to park right in front of room, with plenty of room in back lot to park vehicles and trailers. Gas station is 1/2 block up road from motel to get you set for a day on the trails.
The hot tub was not in service with Im guessing Covid protocols still, which was a bit of a disappointment after a long day on the trails, however it did not deter us from enjoying our trip. The trails are right beside hotel which made it even better. Would definitely stay again.
Hopefully in near future they get hot tub up and running.

Ok Lovely staff. Kids enjoyed the pool. The rooms are very old and outdated, they smelled of cigarette smoke. Definitely not a place to stay for more than one night. The hot tub wasn't working but the sauna was.

good location but musty smell Well situated in Bancroft. Friendly staff and adequate continental breakfast. Good parking and decent sized room with microwave and mini-fridge. Bed was comfortable and the area was quiet for a long weekend. However, the room had a damp and musty smell which was disconcerting. Not sure if it was the AC or in the fabric.
