Horrible Experience Room had a strong chemical smell that never went away, woke up with headache from it. After we checked in we left for a concert immediatly hoping smell would go away., it didn’t. Got back late and didn’t feel like dealing with issue that late. When going to bed realized the carpet was drenched next to the bed. This was clearly where the smell was coming from. Told the front desk when we checked out, they asked what room and said it was from vomit from previous customer 2 nights earlier. Said the room shouldn’t have been used. Instead of offering some discount or any resolution to a horrible experience they still charged us the $350 for 1 night stay, extremely unacceptable.

clean but very tired hotel. clean but in need of updating. The carpet was dark and damp. The wifi access didn't work, and although there is a tech support line, after 30 minutes they couldn't fix the problem. Staff was too busy knitting to be of much help to us. On the positive side, they are welcoming to dogs, which I appreciate. And, there is a restaurant (separately owned but on the premises)- take out or eat in and the food was tasty and good value.

Fireside Inn We stayed at the Fireside Inn in Lebanon, NH and were so taken by its atmosphere we figured this one in Bangor had to be similar. Should've checked it out first. It's just average, a bit of wear & tear, nothing fancy but nothing terrible. Room was fine with comfortable beds, thick-fresh towels, albeit the bathroom was extremely small. Very nice, pleasant young man working the front check in. There is no breakfast other than a discount ticket to a local establishment, Parking lot, which is spacious, is difficult to navigate into as is finding where to pull up to register. The lobby can get extremely crowded with bar & restaurant guests going in/out. We did enjoy our stay in Bangor.

Nothing special here except the great restaurant attached to the hotel. We stopped for an overnight here Wednesday, June 5, 2024 on our way to Acadia National Park. Not that many hotels to stay at here near the downtown. Nearby is a casino and we did not want to stay there. I booked the Fireside Inn online and we checked in about 4 PM. The first impression was not good. The desk clerk was a young guy , maybe early 20s. He acted like we were bothering him, never looked at us, kept his head down and had a irritated look. He spoke only about 5 words total to us. The room was okay, clean enough. The best part of this hotel though is that Geaghan's Pub & Restaurant is attached to it. Great place to dine and it was pouring rain, so good that we did not have to go outside.

I have never written a review before but this was a bad experience. Would not recommend this location. Very rude front desk workers.Arrived to check in,wanted to pay for the weekend, was told couldn't pay until checking out. Was quoted 3 different amounts. Asked for a cot to be added, the person actually rolled his eyes. Room was fine except for no A/C, went to front desk next morning hoping to get someone else so we could pay. Did get someone else, not much better experience, but did get to pay in full. Asked for managers name and person on the night before, very hesitant to give me, still not sure if it was the correct names. Saturday night , people running up and down hallways yelling, slamming doors until 4 am. We were on first floor not sure why this is ok. Upon leaving forgot something in room, had to go to front desk, explained needed to get back in room, person never said one word just activated a key to get back in room. Got outside to load car, person passed out in a car beside us, door wide open car running. I have stayed at other Lafayette properties in the past and have always had a pleasant experience. Paid $390 for 2 night, would hope to get treated with respect.
