We will not be returning. The only things matching my expectation was the proximity to the ocean and the size being roughly that of a standard hotel room. We did not expect tile floors, a tiny bathroom, uncomfortable bed, a smoke alarm that would randomly go off multiple times during the day or night, no actual fridge, a broad gap under the door, and inadequate linens. Granted, the tile floors make sense being on a beach, but we did not think about that. It was never mentioned in the listing. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in in quite some time. My back was stiff and sore most of the weekend as a result. One night back in my own bed, and I am still a little stiff but much better. The space was smaller than expected given the price. I would have expected at least two sinks, and more room in the bathroom. The fridge was not large enough to hold much of anything, but we got by with it. A microwave would be a much appreciated feature. The smoke alarm went off after we showered. We thought that was annoying, but not a huge deal. The more it went off, the more annoying it became. We had just the fan on Sunday night (no heat or air), and it went off four times between 10 pm and 1:44 am. My wife finally shut the fan off. There was no smoke at all, so I believe it was just faulty. We had three people staying in the room and only two wash cloths and hand towels. Our stay was Friday through Monday. Saturday, I requested additional wash cloths, which were provided. More were provided than requested, and that was great. However, Sunday the extras were removed, and we were left with only one washcloth for three people. When someone books a room with three guests, at least three of each washcloth and towel should be provided automatically. After the first night, I contacted the front desk an asked about cancelling the remainder of the reservation and was told I would have to go through Booking.com. I called Booking, and the customer service rep placed me on hold while contacting the resort. When she returned, she said Riviera would not cancel. She did say someone from Riviera was supposed to contact me to try and resolve my complaint, but I never heard from Riviera. The room was overpriced for the quality of the room and the customer service. The beach front was nice, but we will stay someplace else next year. Villages at Ocean's Edge was a much better experience last year.

The Riviera is a fantastic resort for a great getaway. This Resort is a great place for families you are close to all attractions for kids. The resort itself offers a beautiful beach along with a beautiful outdoor pool that has an area for kids as well. There is also an indoor pool and jacuzzi with mini exercise facilities. The rooms are spotless.

Like the Stones sang, "This Could Be the Last Time . . ." Like many other reviewers, we have been staying at Riviera Beach and Blue Water "Resorts" for 10+ years. Probably won't be returning based on this visit. Check in was OK after waiting for someone to appear at the desk. The $25/day parking fee is a joke considering the lot is not monitored for parking permits so anyone can park and enjoy the hotels beach and pool, which we observed was happening. No assigned spots either. Renovated rooms are nice but not guest functional. No place for luggage like an old luggage rack, the "beverage cooler" barely kept the beverages cool! Bring back the refrigerators! Some guests meds need to be kept refrigerated instead of being kept in a cooler. The "in room safe" wasn't really in room since it wasn't attached to anything. Kind of useless. One 2 seat chair on the deck doesn't work for 2 average sized people looking to enjoy morning coffee or beverages outside, so we had to bring a chair from the room outside.. Complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby(what happened to the lobby?) was a nice touch back in the day. Food and drink options need improvement, especially breakfast, and prices need to be competitive with local businesses. Beach and housekeeping staff were great as was mother Earth who provided the beautiful location. And like many other reviewers, we will look for other Cape resorts to spend our time at next trip.

Could be much better for the price! We stayed at the Riviera! I will start out with, the renovated rooms are nice! Now for the cons!!! The seating on the decks are not practical at all, the refrigerator was not cold, there was no hot water in the shower for all 3 days we were there. Lukewarm at best! Tiny moth like flies all over the room. The restaurant was not good at all. The bar at the other resort was horrible. No bar at Riviera! Enjoyed the beach! I am glad we had a special which included the $25 per night parking fee!! Ridiculous!! Also, one day when trying to go back to our room, the key swipe didn’t work. So my husband walk over to the other resort to get another one. The clerk never ask any information at all and just gave him a key for our room!!!!! Doesn’t make me feel safe knowing anyone off the street could ask for a key and get one! I realized if he had asked for an ID, he didn’t have it on him (in the safe, thank goodness), but didn’t even ask for a name! It could be a very nice “resort” with a few improvements! We thought some of the issues were because it was off season, however upon reading other reviews, it was similar in season! Too bad!

Just Okay My family and I have been coming to this resort for the last 10+ years. Some of the reasons we have been coming here so long is the location and having a beach and pool in the same location. Another reason we have been coming so long was the value of the hotel. This is no longer the case since the new management company has taken over. A 6-night stay in 2021 (pre new management company) averaged $316/night with taxes and room fees. A 5-night stay in 2022 (first year of new management company) averaged $455/ night with taxes and room fees. A 4 night stay this year average $576/night with taxes and room fees. In addition, there is now a fee to park on-site that did not exist before the new management company. The Red Jacket hotels are the only hotels on South Shore Drive that charges to park. So, the room rate on a per night basis is more once you figure in the parking fee. At these rates it is like paying the rate for a luxury hotel, which the Rivera Beach is not. For the rate we paid we would have expected full daily housekeeping (without having to ask) not just a change of towels and trash. We would have also expected towels at the pool to always be available. By mid-morning towels at the pool were usually unavailable and if they were restocked it would only be a handful at a time. While the rooms were renovated this past off-season and looked nice some of the storage options available before the rooms were renovated was better. There were certain things we ended up having to keep in our car because there was no place to store it in our room. The beverage fridge that is now in the room instead of a standard mini fridge was also not very useful. As a family we like to bring food for lunch and breakfast to help control costs of the vacation especially since the cost of the room has significantly gone up the last couple of years. Got a virgin mudslide for my child that cost $12. Not sure what the version that has the alcohol in it costs, but a virgin mudslide which is essentially a chocolate milkshake should not cost almost the same amount as the one with alcohol. With the increase room costs and parking fee we will be looking for another hotel to stay at next year.
