Perfect experience Wonderful property. Perfect service, accommodation, food, location and attention to detail throughout. Faultless experience. I was warmly greeted on arrival and recognised as a return guest. The room I had been allocated was very spacious with a great view of the gardens. Service and food were outstanding. A lovely breakfast was served in my room.

Completely overrated and loveless!! 5 Stars - you must be joking! Both rooms were lacking cleanliness with partly filthy bed covers. The carpets had a lot of spots, hair & on our 2nd day no vacuuming was done to the rooms. Understaffed. No one answers when you call the reception, room service. Shabby bathrobes and towels. The windows hardly open and need a proper renovation. The management doesn't care -that's obvious. Hard to believe that this is a Relais &Chateaux rating. More like Fawlty Towers! Never again!

Very close to the 5 We have visited the Priory approximately 6 years ago and loved it . The location is excellent with ample parking and a lovely walk down to the centre of Bath past the Royal Crescent. Several of the Staff we recognised from the last visit, I do like it when Hotels keep their Teams . The Breakfast personnel fell under this category and were excellent. The Dinning room is great with views over the garden and is well maintained, a really nice place to be. The choice of Foods was extensive and the Full English really great quality. Similarly the Spa facilities are immaculate and luxurious, a peaceful room that allows you to unwind. However the change to our last visit was the Pantry evening meal . It’s great that an option over the Full Dinning Room is offered but the “Side Plate “ options meant that you did get some beautifully presented dishes but they felt more like an example of what could be done if you went for a Full Dinning experience. We preferred it on our previous visit when Bistro type food was available and was excellent. Evening staff were pleasant and keen but I had to ask twice for an Ice Bucket for the Wine , which I thought was obvious .Although to be fair the Wine that was suggested was excellent. The Bedroom was a great size with a large luxurious Bathroom . Also Tea/ Coffee making facilities available which isn’t always the case in upmarket Hotels . However a small Fridge would help so you didn’t have to request milk for the tea and a service charge. The only observation on our room and landing area was that it could do with a repaint to keep it fresh, similarly some of the “Antique” furniture had seen better days. Final note ,this was a treat from my Partner who paid immediately on arrival to a very nice and helpful Receptionist, who did all the paperwork. On return she was asked by another member of staff if she had paid and could she prove it ?, which wasn’t ideal. Would I recommend the Hotel , absolutely, but just need to reclaim those small areas of detail.
