The hotel needs a refresh We have been coming here for over 15 years, but I feel it's time for us to move on. Ordinarily we find their drinks good, the food adequate and the rooms comfortable, but this time, all of that felt a little tired. The hotel is ready for a refresh, especially the bathrooms where the floor of the bathtub feels squishy (rot under the tub?) the ceilings are tired, the tile grout is falling out, and there aren't enough towel racks. I'm very happy that there are many people who still come here and I think the price point is about right for the level of the facility. If you've never been here before, you'll love it. But for us, it's time to move on.

Nice venue, average room, food not so great. Stayed 7/23/24. Have been here before with moderate expectations. Location and view is great. Our small room had been upgraded and was satisfactory. No issues but the pillows were like sleeping on a rock. We ate dinner at the Lodge. Waitress was good. The bun fell off the burger before finishing. The 14.00 salad was paltry with some greens and a little fruit. An 8.00 salad at best. Braised beef platter was not warm so sent it back. When returned the mashed potatoes and "vegetables" were mush. Meat was good but more than needed. If you visit set your expectations low and maybe you'll be surprised.

Great place to relax Peaks of Otter is in a beautiful location and extremely relaxing whgich is what we wanted. While rustic the lodge is well maintained and very comfortable. The grounds and lake are immaculate. The on site restaurant is very good. Best menu choices are the pork chop or the trout. Both are excellent and the service is top notch. While the staff warn you that there is no cell service and internet access is not great, we found the internet to be very good for general browsing and email. The bottom line is we look forward to another visit in the future.

Excellent lodge! Our room was very comfortable and fairly spacious. While there is not a microwave, there is a fridge and coffee maker in the room. Wifi worked great for us. Staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. All rooms have AC. Nice grounds for relaxing with chairs in small groups around the edge of the lake.

Driving the Blue Ridge Parkwsy. Beautiful area on the blue ridge parkway. Rooms are 1970 ‘s motel ; clean but small. Restaurant is great with views of the lake.. Lawn chairs available down by lake; great place to watch the sunset. Arrived early, but couldn’t check in until after 3 o’clock. Staff was extremely accommodating and friendly.
