Great location for Cinci sporting events This is a great hotel if you are going to a baseball or football game. There is a shuttle/trolley with a stop at the hotel that leaves every 15 minutes. It takes you right downtown to the stadium (and several other places) and only costs $1. (See pics) We were there for a Reds (Cubs!) game and had bought a parking pass but would do the shuttle next time, especially for day games. We had noisy (teenage) guests nearby who were talking loudly in the hall late at night. I asked them to go into their room once but later called the desk and they promptly came up and took care of it. Room was clean and comfy with a fridge, microwave and small coffee maker. Breakfast was usual Holiday Inn Express fare and was well stocked.

Long weekend We chose this hotel because it was close to Great American Ballpark and a decent price. Having shuttle or bus service right outside was great! We took it right to the ballpark. The hotel including our room was clean. The cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok. The first day, most everything was out when we arrived. She seemed to be trying to keep it filled but it would be gone as quickly as she could refill it. I was disappointed that the pancake machine didn’t work or so I thought. The second day, it was out again. This time I asked about it. She had to hand feed the mix into the machine. Odd but I was able to have pancakes. I felt bad giving her one more thing to do. My two complaints would be the room needs some upgrades, it still had some worn out feature like lack of,sound proofing from rooms above and next door…our bathtub looked dirty but it wasn’t. It was just old and seemed to be losing its finish. The door handle was very difficult to use. We, at first, thought our key didn’t work. The front desk came to help. She struggled with our key but her master opened it. Instead of pushing the handle down, it went up. Each time we opened it, we never knew if we should push it up or down. We just kept trying until it opened. It also felt stuck. It seemed as though the bolt lock would slip and make it difficult. When I mentioned it at the front desk, they said some were installed upside down?? Again, odd! My last complaint would be the front desk. They weren’t rude but not friendly. One did answer a few questions for us when we asked. Every time we came to the lobby, whoever was there was either standing at the desk or sitting in a chair somewhere near the desk and on their phones. We could walk through the lobby and no one even noticed we came through. They never lifted their eyes from their phones. Would we stay here again? Most likely even though it was an older hotel, it was clean and in a good location.

Great Location and Great Value If you want to be close to Cincinnati, but not right in Cincinnati, then this is the hotel to stay at. Just minutes across the river, also close to Newport and Covington riverfront. Walking distance to riverfront restaurants, large grocery store, and close to more restaurants and bars. Short ride to a Bengals or Reds game. We had a larger suite, we we had a lot of space with the two beds and sofa sleeper. Room was clean, with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Great room for a family. Breakfast was of par with other HI Express properties, so it was very good. Pancake machine even worked. Hotel had indoor pool, fitness room, and meeting rooms. A great stay.

Good location; need better service. Stayed for a Friday and Saturday night. The location of this hotel makes it desirable. It is super close to the Levee, the aquarium, great dining and highway access. The front desk folks need to learn to be nice. If they are unhappy with their job; they should not be in the customer service industry. We had several negative run ins with night time front desk employees that were rude, not helpful and just angry. Simple request for more pillows was met with a response of “NO”. Trying to charge snack bar treats to our room was met with the response “again”. Now to be fair, the room was great; big and clean. The food for breakfast was a nice spread and everything was fresh. Sadly, I will not stay at this hotel again because there are many choices of hotels and if you can’t just be friendly and pleasant; you do not deserve my business.

Aquarium around the corner. Needed a hotel between an evening at the zoo and day at the aquarium. Convenient location and easy to get to. There is a Big Boy right outside which is convenient but I opted to walk down to the riverfront for dinner at the Buckhead Mountain Grill. Hotel is very clean and well decorated. Staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Bed was just as I like it though some might think them too soft. Breakfast was the usual HI Express fare. It was kept well stocked and fresh. Checkout was smooth.
