Luxury break I love staying at this hotel with my family for a bit of luxury. The hotel is nice & peaceful. The beds are huge & extremely comfortable, the swimming pool is great & the food & drinks available at the bar are fantastic quality. The staff are also very helpful.

Could be better A small group of us met up to celebrate a birthday. Whilst there was nothing wrong with our stay or our food it just wasn’t anything special. The hotel corridors and communal were a bit chilly as was the restaurant. Our friends had room 274 (I think) and they commented many times on how far the room was from the stairs and lift. We all ate in the restaurant. It isn’t a large menu but there is a good range of options that will suit most people. There were a range of starters ordered with the squid and the potted crab getting very favourable comments. Three of the party had the pie for their main course and ‘average’ was the best comment. The fish and chips went down well as did the burger. The cod loin and sea bass were both described as nothing special. The breakfast the following morning was good. A variety of hot and cold options. The staff were struggling to keep the food topped up and many times there were queues for the eggs and bacon. The room we had was clean and spacious.

Lovely relaxing stay We had a lovely stay and the bed was very comfortable. Room facilities were very good and the whole hotel felt relaxing. Only thing that we didn't like as much were the pillows were not firm enough for our preference. Use of the leisure facilities was great, we really enjoyed the pool, it's a good size and temperature. We also had afternoon tea in the restaurant, which was delightful.

Lovely but difficulty with meals. Beautiful hotel, lovely room and large beds, good spa, good location, good breakfast. We booked room offer with dinners but on arrival were told restaurant fully booked for both nights. Told we could eat in bar but nearly missed that as serving closed early. So, we nearly missed our meal. Reception guy said restaurant booking not his concern so we asked in restaurant and got a table for second evening. We would have asked for a table when booking hotel but this was not indicated! Only other concerns was the great distance of our room from reception and facilities.

Nice setting but lots of room for improvements. Nice location and setting with hiking trails within the grounds. Plenty of car parking. Food was disappointing, especially at dinner time, with being lukewarm, not meeting the description of the dishes, poorly presented, over-priced and lacking taste and quality. Despite pre-ordering the night before, we still had to wait for 30 minutes between starters and main courses. No continental food choices at breakfast, e.g. cold meats, cheese or salads. Long queue at the hot breakfast buffet. Also, had no bath robes in our room despite having booked a spa break, so were not able to wear robes whilst visiting the pool and spa. Twin room was spacious but heating didn't work properly and was totally inefficient for the room. Bathroom was also cold with towel rail temperature not being adjustable. Disappointing that no alternative teas were provided in the room, only standard English breakfast tea.
