Best Western Plus New England Inn & Suites

Berlin Best Western Nightmare The shower pressure was awful. The room came with free breakfast, yet they were out of eggs. We waited 15 minutes, but they never came out with a new batch of eggs. We had to go out and find a breakfast place to eat. I set the AC at 62, but the room never got below 68. I measured it. It constantly went on and off all night long, keeping us awake while it never cooled down to the desired temp. Just an awful night, and they charged me over $320 for the room! In a nowhere town like Berlin, CT! Unforgivable.

Know before you go. It is in the middle of nowhere. It is not a Best Western Plus Hotel We used points for 1 night and paid for the separate confirmation for the rest of our stay. We asked for late check in and mentioned for upgrade since we are Platinum members. I specifically called because the Best Western Hotel that was my first choice was under rehab so customer service canceled the reservation. We had no control over that reservation. We didn’t ask for the cancellation. I called this hotel & asked how far was the hotel from East Haddam- Goodspeed Opera House. This was before I made the reservation and website & front desk manager- Maria told me only a few miles. I looked and saw the site indicated-15 miles. Well, it was 30+ miles in the middle of nowhere. We weren’t upgraded till the 2nd night because we then decided not to change rooms because we weren’t going to spend many hours in the room. Front desk manager, Maria, was unprofessional and sent me an email that told me to go somewhere else if we were ever in the area again. I asked to speak with the General Manager but Maria never informed him. I suppose that they are hoping we forget her rudeness. Housekeeping was wonderful. The breakfast was not kept hot. They didn’t have items that a Best Western Hotel Plus always have. Rotten bananas are in a basket near the toaster. This is not what I expected from a higher end Best Western. And this trip was a celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary.

Comfy and a good value Very solid place to stay. We first stayed here a year ago. It’s a convenient stop on the way to North Carolina from Saint John, NB. Comfortable, clean, and a modest breakfast, and at a decent price. The area seems safe, along an old US route. Also close to a great steamed burger shop, Ted’s.

A Great Place to Stay this hotel is friendly, well organized, clean, centrally located and very comfortable, and in the morning you are treated to a great breakfast and a very pleasant place to eat in. The rooms are well maintained and up to date, with comfortable furniture and amenities

Average stay During check-in Tiffany the front desk staff was Rude, Disrespectful and so Unprofessional! I had reservations for 5 days and after her actions I was ready to cancel. After speaking to the very apologetic front manager the following morning. I decided to finish out my reservation. The breakfast, room and fitness room were average.
