Bethpage Hotel, bare necessities My daughter and I came for a funeral. Restaurants are next door, including Embassy Diner and Starbucks. The room was small. Super clean. The TV was tiny. End table super low and bed super soft. it was almost impossible to reach anything on the endtable. it was quite a feat trying to move around in the bed trying to reach WAY down to the endtable. also there were no outlets for your cell phone. so bring extension cords. No refrigerator, No microwave, no dresser, no drawers. Only two coat hangers. You get a real key for the room. Deadbolt does not keep the maid out. she can still open the door. They have WiFi but like all hotels, its pretty crappy. Everything is right there, restaurants, banks, starbucks, diners, gas stations, big stores, and right off Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway (Route 135) on Hemstead Tpke (24)

Stay elsewhere for the same price. I had a one night stay for business in Bethpage. Booked a room based on their web site boast of "An intimate property with a tastefully modern design" and the five star rating. The reality is a 1960's motel with a fresh coat of paint. The rooms have little or no amenities, however a refrigerator be rented for an up charge. You can also select a room with a Jacuzzi next to the bed if your stay is only a few hours. The beds are hard, the pillows flat, and the TV on the wall is too small. The TV remote batteries died after a half hour. The tiny shower was not designed for an adult male and had almost no water pressure or hot water. To be fair, the property and rooms looked clean. The room was noisy due to the hotels high volume of guests. The free internet connects to an non-secure network. I turned Wi-Fi off on my phone. Probably a great place for a quicky but stay elsewhere for a good nights sleep and a hot shower.

I wouldn't stay there again. Despite the surrounding area not looking dangerous, guests must be buzzed into the lobby in order to sign in. The room was not clean; in particular one of the nightstands had some sort of disgusting substance smeared on it. The small shower (there was no bath tub) had very poor water pressure and the water was luke-warm instead of hot. The room itself was certainly large enough but there was no microwave or fridge. We asked for a wake-up call--which we never got. It was not a horrible experience but I've stayed at hotels in mid-town for a few bucks more that were far superior to this.

Excellent Value We were planning an overnight visit on Christmas Eve night. We simply needed a place to sleep and shower, and went with this venue based on the reasonable rate. We checked in with some trepidation as the potential for disaster was high. Happily, all fears were unfounded. The check-in was easy and fast. The room, although Spartan, was very clean. The bathroom seemed new and was spotless, and the bed was uncommonly comfortable. The next morning, check-out was equally painless. Additionally, there were several nearby places to eat, open even on Christmas morning. The only possible criticism is that it is easy to miss the hotel as the sign outside is small and obscured. All in all, an excellent value for the price.
