Outside looks nice . Rooms however need updating. First room was terrible . Shared door with another room . Walls paper thin. Second room slightly better . Again rooms need updating. Beds were hard and squeaked whenever You move, bathroom door had been damaged. Bed trim was tattered and coming off or missing. On good thing was the breakfast. It was well stocked and had some good food. Wish the room was as good as the breakfast.

Like grandma's house To be clear, this is not a luxury resort. My family stayed in one of the Chalets with a loft for the kids. Pros: It was a cute, quaint, slightly kitschy lodge. Everything was in mostly working order. The room was warm and welcoming. The facility in close to the center of whatever you want to do in Big Bear Lake. Cons: The carpet was a bit worn, and frayed. The towels were scratchy. The walls are thin, and we could hear the neighbors. The carafe did not seem to fit the coffee pot properly, and water got all over the counter. Fortunately, I was only running water through it, and removing the lid of the carafe sovled the issue. Other guests liked to walk their very large dogs by our unit to relieve themselves and didn't pick up after them, I have to concede there is little the management can do on that count unless they witness the guest walking the animal. Ultimately, we found the room to be exactly what we expected based on photos and reviews. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return.

Dirty and extremely run down I booked a 2 night stay at this lodge for a ski trip and left a day early. The best thing about this hotel was it’s location, friendly staff and the fact that we were able to check in early- that’s about it. This motel is very old and you can tell the moment you walk inside. One set of blinds would not shut which was hard to sleep at night because of the bright fluorescent lights next door. The bathroom was a mess. There were holes in the wall where I assume they had wanted to place a towel rack and chose not to but didn’t bother covering it up. The toiletries were covered in dirt and the towel they were wrapped in as well. They also don’t have AC so when it felt warm we had to turn the heater off for it to cool down. The room had 2 hangers in the closet and no iron. A few hiccups during our stay was the noise and hot water. The entire building shared a water heater so when we arrived back after a day of skiing there was no hot water. Front desk told us we just needed to wait 15 min for it to reset, which it did and we took a hot shower. The second was the upstairs neighbor turning on their jacuzzi at 1:30am. I called front desk and they took care of it immediately. I’m assuming they have hardwood floors upstairs because we heard every little movement. It was very hard to sleep. We left a night early because I simply could not fathom having to stay there another night. We tried taking a nap in the afternoon and couldn’t really because of how loud the upstairs neighbors were and the street noise. Overall I would not recommend nor stay here again. If a place seems neglected and unsanitary I don’t bother returning. I haven’t had an unpleasant experience like this at a hotel in a long time and I was eager to leave the property to drive home for a good nights rest.
