Meadowbrook Weekend Getaway This was our first time at Meadowbrook. Fantastic experience. Great location, friendly staff. The room was a remodeled one with great space and comfort. Breakfast each morning was prepared well and convenient. We will definitely plan to stay there again.

We Will Be Back To Stay Again My wife thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the ulta comfortable King Bed Room, the quick access to the pool by stairs or elevator, a delicious breakfast every morning, friendly front desk employees and the easy walk to everything in Blowing Rock.

Loved Blowing Rock. Excellent stay except for some minor picky concerns: 1- vey annoying toilet set wouldn't stay up (I'm a man) and kept crashing down when raised. Very LOUD AC unit had to be turned off at night to sleep. Not enough lighting and lamps in the living room of thE 2 bedroom suite, #401. And we really could have used a paper chennel guide for the extensive cable channels. it was scroll and guess at first. Finally, the chaise lounger at the pool was broken in the middle and collapsed when laid upon (it was covered up by a cushion). So, justsome attential to detail could make a 5 of 5.

A great choice! We throughly enjoyed our five night stay. Our room and bath were large and we especially enjoyed the sun room where we could sit and read or just enjoy the view. The breakfast was good and offered items appropriate for meat eaters and vegetarians. All of the staff that we interacted with was kind and accommodating. The rooms have been updated and you can tell there is more work to be done. The elevator in our bldg did not work (which we knew prior to booking) and the one in the main bldg was also having issues. It was challenging to get our luggage upstairs and would not be appropriate for handicapped. It appeared to be much like the elevator on “Big Bang Theory” if you watch it ;). Hotel is very well situated within walking distance of several restaurants and downtown. We would recommend! Wish there was a way to post pictures of our very large bedroom and bath.

The good and bad The good points first, excellent location to downtown and good breakfast. All of the staff I spoke with were courteous and helpful. They are a highlight of this hotel. The bad, beds were firm and pillows were flat. The A/C blower was extremely noisy and blew with high velocity to the point of overriding the TV sound. The elevator in the annex was completely shutdown with a sign indicating parts were on order. The elevator in the main building could not be called to the first floor. This caused the staff to run the stairs to retrieve the elevator. The staff has had to do this for almost 4 weeks. The rooms have had improvements with new furniture but the old no longer used wall anchors have not been filled in and painted over. The room darkening curtains are torn and tattered. The covered unloading area at the lobby has not had the ceiling repaired in a few years. I have stayed at this hotel many times and it is sad to see it go through a slow decline. I suspect this is due to upper management buying up nearby hotels thus lowering the repair budget for this once grand Inn.
