Great Location & Service Just finished a family vacation to tour about the historic charm of Boston, Red Sox, and enjoy the atmosphere of a big city. I could not have picked a better location for a hotel stay to get around and was great to be by Boston Common. It is a historic older hotel, so the footprint of the bathroom was tight, but I knew that going into my trip. The teens didn't care for the church bells on the first night but the city noise seemed to fade away on night 2. I would stay here again.

Lovely charming hotel with great history and staff We had a lovely 3 nights at this hotel. We were greeted warmly by John at check in. The room wasn’t big but it was fine and very comfortable and clean. Love the history of this building and hotel. The last Hurrah was very popular and busy and sometimes there was a brief wait to get in. The staff were brilliant and I loved the prickly pear spiced margarita. The coffee shop is a useful place an has the famous cream pies to takeaway. There is a useful list of recommendations for places to eat in the reception area. The porters were also fantastic- helping with bags and storing our luggage after checking out. Some people think this hotel is dated but I really liked the unique details and the old fashioned charm of the place.

Not a good value for the price I wish the room had included a mini-fridge, better lighting and more outlets to charge electronics. In addition, there was no side table on both ends of the bed. Only on one side. Quite disilussioned for the price I paid.
