Very average experience Very average experience. The room needed upgrading, the bathroom needed repairs to the shower head and bath panel. The buffet breakfast was poor and over priced. Tea and coffee was served in a flask, the staff struggled to replenish the dishes.

Cruise Package - just what we wanted We booked a pre cruise package which included a stay the night before our cruise, long stay parking for the duration of the holiday, breakfast and taxi transfer to Southampton. I feel that we got exceptional value for money and received excellent customer service throughout. The car park had ample space and it was easy to find a convenient, safe spot to leave the car. The bedroom was lovely, very clean and comfortable with a large bath/shower and plenty of storage space. For us the only negative was the bed which we found a bit uncomfortable as the mattress was very soft and a bit beyond it’s best. The breakfast was perfectly nice and well presented. We were really pleased with the efficient taxi pick up in the morning and they gave us clear instructions about how to get a return taxi to collect our car. Collecting our car from the car park was a breeze! Overall I cannot fault the cruise package and it meant we had a happy and peaceful start and end to our holiday.

Five star service! We have just returned from a trip to visit our family and stayed at Botley Park from 13th to 16th April. From the moment we checked in at Reception to the time we left, we were very impressed with Robert and the other lady at Reception (on 13th). Everyone we encountered was smiley, greeted us with good morning/good afternoon. The spa and pool was lovely! Housekeeping kept the room shop shape and so clean. We had such great service and dined in the bars and restaurant too. Nothing seemed too much trouble. There were aot of children there sling with our children but the pool always had space and we enjoyed several swims. We will return! Thank you all!ps food was lovely and such a great choice st breakfast too!

Stay somewhere else! I have had the misfortune of staying at the Macdonald Botley Park Hotel in Southampton a couple of weekends ago, the AA have rated it a 4 star hotel. I have visited better butlins chalets than this hotel. How it is anymore than a 2 star i don't know and perhaps is due an unexpected visit from the AA to update that star rating to something more fitting with the standard they are at. The hotel is dirty, poorly presented and the swimming pool and spa are bad. There is a large dirty tide mark on the wall in the pool and the steam room has an aroma of sewage. What i imagine was once a spa bath/hot tub area in the pool is empty with lots of loose dirt in it, a health hazard for sure. The heated pool is cold. We were told by a member of the gym/ pool that the boiler for the pool broke years ago and the hotel couldn't afford to properly fix it. The Winchester Restaurant menu is limited to greasy fried food with one salad.and it is really poor quality at that. The promise of steak on the website is just a dream, there is no steak! Fish and chips, chicken burger, sausage and mash, cesear salad or tikka masarla is all there is to choose from. We stayed in room 312 - to our suprise the bath had no running hot water - i mean literally no water came out of the tap! The bathroom and room were not what i would say is clean, its surface clean. We were then moved to 610 which although a much bigger room, had a smaller bed - a sacrifice we were willing to make to have running water. The rooms are tired, there are multiple large stains on the carpets, dirty cups in the rooms. Even the tap on the sink in that room needs to be encouraged to get any hot water. The ebb and flow of hot water and cold water when showering made for an unfomfortable experience. The spa manager is rude and surley. She was unwillling to accept the staff had made a mistake with our booking and to properly rectify their issues. The hotel is poor, we won't return again,

The good the bad and the ugly. The good. Very nice location, helpful reception staff. good value for money. Parking is great for short stay. Breakfast buffet was to a good standard. Room was large clean nice and quiet bed massive with bath and shower. TV Air-conditioning, phones. Room service. The bad. On arrival there was a very large group of people taking over the whole of the reception area which made it difficult to get to reception to check in. There was only one person on reception so it was difficult for that person to do an enquiry on the phone and deal with people at the desk for enquiries and check ins. First impressions last. The ugly. Our room was somewhat dated. It would seem to be part stuck in time to the early eighties, as were the two phones in the room.although the bed was modern but the furniture was all old and the room in desperate need of some colour and modernisation.i would stay again even as it is but would prefer the work was done .
