Terrible Experience and Discriminatory Treatment I recently stayed at the adventure lodge and, while the place was nice enough and is close to boulder and the mountains, I will never return to this lodge. I had the dis-pleasure of meeting the owner (I think he said his name was Asa) and have rarely met such an entitled and misogynist man. I don’t normally write reviews, and am not someone who is particularly sensitive to the everyday junk that happens in life, but after watching this incident, I had to write something. During my stay, I witnessed how the owner handled a mixup (the lodge's mixup) with a female customer who was very reasonable but needed his assistance. I could not believe the way he relished making her feel uncomfortable and powerless – he seemed to really enjoy it. He quickly escalated his tone while the woman remained calm, shouting at her, calling her “sweetie”, and then refusing to speak with or look with her, only willing to address her husband standing next to her. He then would not respond when she spoke and talked about her as an object to her husband. It may not sound extreme in writing, but it was appalling to watch. Also, the number of times he said "as a business owner" as justification for his rude treatment, blew me away. Because the owner of this establishment is one of the most foul individuals I have come across in a long time, it really put a damper on our short stay, and I do not plan to support him with any of my money again. I hope you do not choose to either.

Simple but beautiful I loved this place. The setting the lodge is in is absolutely beautiful. You’re only a couple miles away from Pearl Street and the University, yet you feel like you’re secluded in the mountains. So peaceful. The rooms are simple but artfully appointed following the clever “adventurer” theme that you see throughout the property. Custom shower curtains, headboards and pillows and just cute decor and signage all over the property to match the theme. Beautiful creek running through where we sat in the red Aderondick chairs early morning to listen to birds and water with the yummy local coffee provided in the room. Love how the owners have maxed out the property with a few RV camping spots as well as platforms built for tent campers at the base of the trail. And a nice exterior bathroom with a lock box for the campers to use which was very clean and warm. Coffee and a few muffins in lobby, as well as a bit of beer and wine at night. I have to say, though I usually choose just a bit fancier hotels, I will go back to A-lodge again when I’m in town for my kids college events. The property was tranquil. The rooms clean and well appointed. Customer service great. I really loved the calmness and simplicity of it. So well done. . No complaints

Terrible customer service and double charges Terrible customer service for a room block we booked for an event near by. Front desk double charged rooms and would not reconcile differences in invoices / charges. Would not recommend as there are better options down the canyon in Boulder.

yes..BUT 4 instead of 5 stars due to Good and Bad. The GOOD: as expected for Boulder the staff was exceptional, attentive, kind and courteous. The Place overall was rustic wild and woodsy. This is the BEST choice for mountain, steam and woods in Boulder area. Now the BAD: outdoor lighting which leaks into room all night. IF you get room number below 44 they have both blinds and curtains to block all light to sleep in dark peace. But IF your room is 45 or above prepare to have a well LIT room all night from the outside security porch lights. Is it as bad as being in New Jersey with a flashing neon light all night? I thought so. I had to stand on a chair and custom rig blankets over 3 windows. Ugh. Or you could wear night mask. Or they can add the usual heavy curtains to block all light like most hotels do - even them -if you are lucky to catch a larger room with a lower room number. Once they make this change, this will be a 5 star place.

Adventure Lodge review Rustic, could use some updating and basic maintenance. Location is great, staff were super nice. Very good in room coffee. Free electric car chargers. Multiple lodging options. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Fine internet access.
