Holiday Inn Bridgeport-Trumbull-Fairfield, an IHG Hotel

Amazing Great hotel! I went for maluma concert and was really convient , 2-5 minutes walk to the Webster bank arena. Comfortable bed , nice hot shower and extra towels. The breakfast buffet OMG was so delicious and many options , they have a great staff. Was hot when we arrived. The room was a little warm when we arrived but 1 hr after was good.

Great stay! Great service!! Had a great stay !! The hotel and rooms were very clean and nice. The bed was soo comfortable!! I found the staff very friendly and accomodating!! We ordered room service, it was very good and was delivered in about 20 mins. We also enjoyed the bar, which had a lively crowd and good drinks..The bartender was great but forgot her name. Highly recommend and will return

Average. Clean. Good Restaurant. Stayed here while on business in Bridgeport. The hotel was average. The parking situation is the worst aspect of this hotel. It is located behind the hotel, across the street. If you have a pick up truck, or any type of large SUV, you are in for a headache. My vehicle barely fit as the ceilings are only inches from the roof of your car. There are many street walkers. I heard and saw several drunks making lots of noise. A bright spot is the hotel restaurant. I ordered steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans. There was some type of Siriacha sauce with it. Very good. Bridgeport is a rough city. The hotel is a decent respite.

Cleanliness a major issue As a IHG member, I always emailed ahead in hopes of reserving a top floor and a room without a connecting door(those doors are funnel for noise). I was professionally answered by the asst.manager as the general manager was on vacation. I was told those requests will be placed on best available basis on that day. As we made the trip back home from Maine, we did a one night stay over at Bridgeport because of the proximity to the Port Jefferson-Bridgeport ferry. The hotel was like a beacon of light as the surrounding areas were relatively rundown. Bridgeport was once a prosperous town(home of P.T. Barnum) but like many cities fell in to disarray. It is only two block walk from the Metro North train station, although I would be careful at night the streets are not lighted well. Parking is $12 dollars a night and it is located across the street(in the backside) of the building. You actually do not have to check in first because the garage is not owned by Holiday Inn. The garage has a small Holiday Inn sign which is hard to see. Collect your ticket and the gate will open. Make sure you bring the ticket for the Hotel Reception to validate as it is more expensive parking individually. The first floor parking fills up quick although there are 5 levels. If you have a lot of luggage I would check in the front first. After you leave the garage, the hotel does have a back entrance - go in from there to check in. They recently renovated the entire hotel - the hotel lobby was very bright and splendid. The restaurant was cornered off but they allowed limited indoor seating during breakfast only. (No dinner sit in) Reception was mediocre process, the gentleman behind the counter was quite scruffy and simply checked me in and handed me a card while he was talking with another employee. Meanwhile a security guard with a badge hanging was reviewing over some video. We got the 5th floor, while they had like 9 floors. I guessed they didn't honor my request - although I was placed in a corner room. There are four elevators and you have to swipe before an elevator opens. There were signs everywhere saying "Loudness will not be tolerated, etc. "(I forgot the exact words). In my mind already - I was thinking of rowdy crowds in the hotel. The elevators looked modern and we walked to our room. The hallways look newly carpeted although you can tell they didn't do the best job. Doors were never replaced as you see the edges worn. Our door had old marks all over the door knob area. Once we walked in - from first glance - everything looked nice and new, but then the filthiness set in. The carpet - supposedly new - was filthy and thick with soot. I walked barefoot for about 5 minute and my foot was lightly black. The carpet was also relatively sticky. It looked like it wasn't deep cleaned since it was installed. In all honestly, I think the hotel was housing the homeless during the covid crisis. Which is fine - but it needs to be CLEANED! And yes, we could smell the room housed a person that didn't showered. The room was large(booked a larger room) but missing furniture. There were big gaps at two corners that would have had a sofa. Instead they placed a "sleeper" by the third corner (forth corner being A/C unit), which was another gripe. The sleeper mattress cover had oil/grime stains all over it - and it stank. There was bread crumbs or "human" sediments all under the sleeper mattress. I dare not touch the non-pillowcase pillow. We used it to place our luggage instead(which I think many used as there was no luggage rack provided) The bed was nice and new. Comfortable. There was one pillow that smelled used(you can smell if its a fresh pillow or not). The blankets look and smell clean. However, we still wiped down the surrounding area. Loved the wood frame behind the bed. There was the usual TV and drawer opposite of the bed. The desk was quite strange - it was a small pullout placed very close to the wall and TV. Not great for if you are doing business. We actually used the "office" desk as a dinner desk as there are no other ways to eat. On the bottom, was an enclosed refridgerator which made absolutely no sense to be trapped like that. It was not even noisy and in fact the ventilation was so poor - the fridge ran hot. We opened the door and fridge ran cooler. And it looks like they never replaced the fridge during renovation as there were missing pieces and it wasn't clean. There was a nice large big window facing the train station and garage , but the curtains were already falling apart. One "stick" to pull the curtain already broke off and has tossed into the corner. The thicker curtains were already filthy. The bathroom was barely better. The toilet looked like it wasn't changed and had a poor flush. The tiles were nice all around - but wallpaper was already peeling off in certain areas. Some tiles at corners were nicked off already. The shower though was nice and strong with no fluctuations. Shower curtains were clean. The sink was outside the bathroom in a "dressing" area. There was a large mirror and a bench with several hooks. There was a large cabinet that opened up. The pillowcases in there looked like it was never changed. Overall, we had a peaceful night. We occasionally heard a few things drop above us in the bathroom but the noisest part was actually the cars racing through the streets at night with sone occasional blasting stereo. The A/C helped with the noise but the A/C filter looked like it hasn't been changed at all and had a musty smell. Because of limited options outside of the hotel - we found an interesting Viet restaurant in a "spotty" area a few miles out. It was great. In the morning, we decided to try to breakfast downstairs - it was horrid. The cashier tried her best taking my multiple orders while handling other customers and was very professional. However, the potatoes were mushy and the eggs bland. Surprisingly there was relatively a good amount of people eating indoor - albeit not much around the vicinity for breakfast(not even a decent bagel place!) If we were staying more than one night, we would have definitely made a push for another room. Although I wouldn't be sure it would be much cleaner. Quite disappointed in this hotel but believe it or not - this is the only hotel within the 3 mile vicinity. Definitely wouldn't recommend for long term stay. I should have stayed at New Haven (less than 30 min to Bridgeport Ferry) and enjoyed the area around Yale.

Nice spot to stay if in area. Clean, good staff, nice bar. Parking is across street in separate building for $10. Located right in heart as far as arena and some nearby food/drink options. Rooms are clean and comfy. Water pressure was so brutal low though but would go back!
