Fantastic hotel I treated my partner away to Balmer Lawn near to the end of July 2024. The hotel looks amazing and the grounds are stunning. You quite literally have wildlife directly in front of the hotel like horses and we even had a herd of cows march through! The location and building is absolutely perfect. We checked in and the highlight of the visit was the staff, they were polite, helpful and clearly wanted to be there and made such a great atmosphere. We had dinner in the restaurant, it was a little bit expensive but we were expecting it as it is an award winning restaurant. The food was well worth the price, it came out looking delicious and the taste was perfect. The dining experience really was a 10/10. The bar in the evening is also a fantastic venue, lovely, quiet and the drink choice is very good, rare to see a hotel with a pale ale on tap. Again, staff were attentive and couldn’t have done more for us. We did change rooms which was absolutely no hassle after a slight issue. We asked for a move and it was done with no hassle, no fuss and just an easy process and we are grateful for that. We did have an issue which we did raise when we left via email and Tom the Ops manager called us a few days later and was brilliant and clearly cared about us, if they wanted to the hotel could’ve just brushed it off but they wanted to make it right and did so. Fantastic hotel, lovely venue, great food and drinks, brilliant location and the highlight were the team working there. We very much look forward to returning.

Wonderful place for a wedding. Balmer Lawn hotel hosted my daughter’s wedding. Family and friends stayed the weekend. Fantastic hotel with beautiful views. It is very child friendly with a kids games room with loads of things for them to do, and an indoor and outdoor pool. The outdoor pool was warm so it can be used even if the weather is cool. All the staff are friendly, helpful and approachable.

Fantastic stay thanks to Jane Another fantastic stay at Balmer Lawns Had slight issue with room on the first night but we arrived late and just wanted to crash spoke to Jane first thing in the morning and by the time we returned later that day we were moved to a more appropriate room (note avoid room 42 if you are a couple lol) Jane regularly checked in with us to make sure everything was okay and she couldn't have been more helpful she was amazing

I love this Hotel Every time we visit we are met with smiling faces, excellent service and lovely food. We have a large nervous dog and are always seated ( at our request) in the quietest spot. This is a proper, old fashioned country hotel, with modern outside area.

Pleasant impromptu stay! We went camping in our camper van and on the first night ate out at the Balmer Lawn. Whilst eating the heavens opened with rain and we decided not to go back to the campsite, but instead to stay the night as a room was available. We have 2 electric bikes which were locked on to our van bike rack, but were very concerned regarding possible theft, as the lady at the campsite had told us that it was very common in that area and locks weren’t a deterrent. The hotel has secure locking for bikes and Tom the operations manager was happy for us to store them there, which was a relief. Overall I found the staff very customer focussed and helpful, which to us is the number one important thing with the hospitality industry. Yes service once might have been a bit slow, but because the staff were so charming not an issue. We ended up staying at the hotel 3 nights as we liked it so much, with good spa amenities, both indoor and outdoor pool. Food was also very good, plus location on the edge of the New Forest, with trails from the hotel. Will definitely be going back some day. Simon & Jane alias the soggy campers.
