I ask you for urgent feedback Hello, we stayed at your hotel with my husband in November. We were asked to pay a deposit of 120.47$ on the first day. This should be paid back within 5 days after check out. Unfortunately, we have not received anything to date, we paid this fee on 08.11.2024. I ask you for urgent feedback.

Great hotel on a sketch street We stayed in 2 rooms during game 4 of the World Series. First off, the neighborhood is a disaster of sketchiness, homeless folks, drugged out folks and overall quite poverty-stricken HOWEVER this hotel is managing to keep all that out and is raising the bar for what to expect from other Bronx hotels. Check-in was smooth and easy and they gave us free NYY cupcakes which was a very nice touch. The beds and pillows were quite firm, which I'm a huge fan of. The rooms were overall very quiet from each other, however the hotel is down the street from a hospital and is on a busy street for police cars to go siren-blaring down. We got an unwelcome 4 am wakeup siren from some such police activity outside the hotel. And the hallways are unfortunately on the loud, echoey side too. Heard many folks returning from bars at 1-2 am in the hallways especially well but once they go in their rooms you can't hear neighboring rooms. So there's good quality here. The quality did NOT extend to the free breakfast unfortunately. The cereals were like 3rd rate, never heard of their brands and they tasted stale. They have no soy/almond/oat milk options (just half/half, whole or low fat, however their milk dispenser machine was quite low on supply and we only got a couple dribbles of milk). The coffee machine was a joke and seemed to be in dire need of replacement. Push the button to select your coffee type (black, espresso, latte, mocha, cappuccino, etc) about a dozen times and it finally works only to mess up and make something not right. I went through about 3 tries with 3 failed drinks (espresso wouldn't work, cappuccino would only give me frothed milk) before settling on black coffee which it spewed out a little bit of and then lots of hot water. The yogurt was low fat Yoplait. Overall, I wish I'd just gone across the street to Dunkin. The history of this hotel was everywhere, and was such a cool touch. You can clearly see you're not in some fake, megachain corporate hotel. You're in a historic building with cool history. Would have truly been something to see this Opera House in action back when the Bronx was a respectable neighborhood. They've done well overall and just need to do a little better with breakfast to have a truly remarkable hotel.

Great hotel We stayed 3 nights before our cruise. This is a fabulous hotel, immaculately clean, spacious rooms even including a microwave, soft fluffy towels. There's tea and coffee available 24/7 as well as biscuits. Breakfast is included as well. Highly recommend. Very near the subway for trains 2 and 5 Downtown so very convenient.

Having to dodge the fentanyl users makes this a two star hotel at best ! Not a safe area at night. Would avoid. Sadly the hotel is in the worst section of the Bronx. The one that attracts all the homeless, drug users, drug dealers, prostitutes and others. I’ve visited here a couple of times in the past 3 years and saving $1000 over the 4 nights was the only reason this last time. I will say this, once inside you are safe. Never had an issue with people coming from the street inside to bother people but from the subway station and anywhere within walking distance you will experience what it is to live / be in the getto. Police sirens go off all night. Ambulances help those affected by fentanyl and other drugs constantly.. The breakfast is ok and the lady that runs the show keeps it clean and stocked. If you are travelling to see a few Yankees games staying here might be worth it but if your plan is to tour manhattan don’t waste your time. It’s a good 45 minutes in to midtown. It’s hard to go back to room and dump things or have a rest. I can say the room is pretty large for a New York City room for the price and it’s kept clean and it’s made up every day promptly but you just can’t get over the dangers and ghetto like area right outside the door. If you spend over three days here and a person doesn’t die on the footpath within 15 m of the place you can consider yourself unlucky. I can’t say if you’re in your 20s and you want to save money. It’s better than a youth hostel..

LIKE THE CHANGES I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times over the years. And I’ve seen an improvement this visit compared to my last one in June 2024. The hotel, in general, is in a great location with easy access to food and the train, and you can find something late at night to eat for some reading. During my last few stays, I arrived late at night. I did stay in a room that has been upgraded, and I like the changes. Especially in the bathroom, but the smoke smelled on and off throughout the halls. Entry into the lobby area was sometimes too much, and just easy access to walk into the hotel for guests and nonguests. The late-night staff is always welcoming and helpful during my visits.
