Our conference experience Having organised many trade shows and conferences over too many years, we have first-hand experience of what is needed to deliver a first-class event. It is teamwork, not just in front of house, but from everyone pulling together. The Martin’s team certainly did that. But we must commend the service of Laurent and Jeremy, who were always professional and provided excellent service.

Lovely breakfast, very depressing rooms, surprising "surcharge" I normally stay at another hotel in Brussels but I decided to try Martin's Brussels EU because I'd had such a positive experience previously at Martin's Klooster in Leuven. First the positives. The breakfast was really lovely, great variety and the restaurant itself is a very nice room with lots of windows. The staff were very nice also. The negatives. I checked in around 5pm but my room wasn't ready despite check in been 3pm. I didn't have that long to wait, maybe 20 minutes, but I thought it was very late for housekeeping to be still cleaning rooms. The room itself - a "charming room" - was utterly depressing. Very dark decor, very poor lighting and much smaller than the same standard room in Martin's Klooster. Bathroom was very basic. I checked at reception to make sure that it was what I'd booked, rather than a lower grade room, and was assured it was. The receptionist said he'd check about an upgrade to a bigger room, and offered me a "great" room. Whilst this was slightly bigger, it was equally dark and dreary. The only lighting in the main area was two small lights on the wall at the head of the bed, and small reading lamps either side of the bed. The bathroom was tiny and basic and the toilet was located separately, in a sort of cupboard. The room was right beside the lift and the housekeeping store room, so there was a lot of noise and banging. At no point was I advised that there would be an additional charge for the "upgrade," so was surprised to see a €20 surcharge on my invoice. I subsequently emailed the hotel about this and they offered to knock it off a future booking, should there be one. Overall, apart from the breakfast and the pleasant staff, it was a disappointing experience.

Another great hotel __ Martin Brussels perfectly situated opposite the Berlaymont and the Council of the European Union in the European Quarter. The Brussels city centre is also just a few minutes away by metro which is great .. Thanks to Laeti, Tony and Said all of them been amazing with a great customer service______ Great wifi. Breakfast buffet better than expected. Room basic but clean and comfortable and comfy bed the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in ~ thumbs up __ ONLY downturn the gym opens at 8am _ which is pretty late for those who wanna go to gym early before heading out and explore the city.. Over all experienced was great _

Recommeded (especially for EU related travel) Very practical for work in the EU district as it's within walking distance of almost everything (not so much for sightseeing), quiet and pleasant area. Frequented by travelers in EU Parliament business. Nice bed, very well appointed and spacious room, and efficient service. All you expect from a 4-star hotel and some nice extra touches (large jacuzzi bath in my room, at least), plus originality -not gaudiness- in the decoration. Due to shortness of stay and time of the year I missed some more extra touches. Also, surprisingly good value in an expensive city. Recommended.

I loved it! When I arrived I was greeted by a very polite and pleasant staff. I was freely upgraded to a better room. My stay was partly booked by me and partly by my employer. I was allowed to stay in the same room for the whole stay. My room was quiet, bed was super nice, everything was +++.Breakfast was versatile and you could enjoy a garden view. I will definetly be back!
