A million things to do I can't say enough good things about our visit to Buckhorn Lake. This little park has so much to do that we could have spent a week here without getting bored. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. There are so many things to do here like hiking, mini golf, swimming in the lake or pool, shuffleboard, cornhole, and way more than just that. Our room was very homey and nice. It was comfortable and had a great view. When the people in the room next to us started being noisy late at night, I called the office and they handled it immediately.
I will say that if I could go back I would make more plans to have our own food with us. Breakfast is included with the stay and is very nice. The lunch and dinner, however, are VERY expensive and the quality is middling. I didn't mind the food, but you are definitely paying what you would expect to pay at the only eatery for many miles around (because it is).
I'd like to spend time at some of Kentucky's other State Resort Parks, but after being at this one, it would be really hard to get me to visit anywhere else. We had a great time.

Perfect Peaceful Get Away I have never experienced such a peaceful, relaxing trip as this past weekend get away. The views are spectacular, the food in the dining room was exceptional. The rooms are dated, but nostalgic. I almost hate to review it as it would be such a shame to have tons of people visit and ruin the raw beauty. From our room 307, we woke up and saw Bald Eagles flying over the smooth lake from our beds. Such a break from the hectic world! In the evening sitting on our balcony, the mist starts rolling in and descending on the mountains. Breakfast says "continental", let me tell you... it was better than my own grandmothers. Just delicious! There is a marina on the lake, but unfortunately it was closed while we were there, as we would have rented a boat to relax on the lake. There is the cutest Putt Putt course on the property and it was fun to hit the ball around for an hour or so. Only one warning. There is little to no wifi. Do not expect to go to this resort and be on the internet the whole time. It's a beautiful place to get AWAY from the world!

Good people The staff is great, good food at the lodge. They really went out if their way even when the storm knocked out the Power! Cabins are dated, hey that's why we went for the third time. We enjoy the old style and history!

A Welcome Opportunity to Unplug and Relax Love this place. The staff makes you feel welcome from the moment you step in the door and was always willing to assist us in any way. New mattresses since our last visit, very comfortable. Enjoyed the on-site dining and the incredible views. In some ways a typical state park lodge, but the hospitality and serene location make it special. A regular part of our summer plans

Very Interesting History We didn't stay but camped nearby. We stopped by to take a walk by the lake and enjoyed a visit to the lovely lodge. Happened to stop when there was a reunion of the families who lived in the town that was submerged when they built the dam and created Buckhorn Lake. Had a very unique mini re-creation of the town.
