Great location great staff My mom and I stayed here for 2 nights in the beginning of April. Angelique was there for us upon check in. When we needed to schedule housekeeping she scheduled it immediately without any issues. The following day as I walkthrough the lobby she followed up to ensure we did receive the service. As a manager myself for Marriott, this is the staff that I would love to be able to hire. Many kudos to a great staff

Need customer service training This hotel was on track for a 5 star review. Despite being very close to I5, with the AC/heater running it was very quiet. Until the morning. First, we were awakened to a fire alarm. We raced from the room and on the stairs the alarm was silenced. We could smell burning toast. We went back to sleep and got up a bit late. We got showered and packed and I went down to see what we could get for breakfast. It was 10:10 when I arrived and it was clear breakfast was over. Megan was cleaning up. I saw some bananas and was about to grab one when I looked in the refrigerator in front of me and there were pre-made sausage egg muffin sandwiches. I figured I would grab two and microwave in the room, except the refrigerator was locked. Megan told me "breakfast is over." I asked, "Can't I just grab two of these and microwave in my room?" "No, breakfast is over." Seriously? 10 minutes late and all I asked for is to unlock the refrigerator and let me take 2 to my room. No effort! No cleanup! Why on earth would she be more concerned about punctually closing breakfast than helping out a customer...who she knew had been awakened by the fire alarm?! We went across the parking lot to Carl's Jr and realized despite we had to pay $10, the sandwiches were made fresh...who knows how long those had been in Fairfield's refrigerator? We won't be staying here again. It appears customer service is not something employees are trained to offer.

Exactly what you expect from a Fairfield The check-in process was smooth and my Platinum status was recognized during check-in and we were upgraded to a suite. While the set up is pretty much exactly what you would expect from a Fairfield, the hotel itself was a bit dated. For COVID times, the breakfast option was one of the better ones out there: There are hot items, and the selection is close to normal times besides the fact that they are all pre-wrapped. Bob's Burger nearby was a good food option and they had outdoor dining during September and it is just across from the hotel parking lot. You can also conveniently charge your Tesla if you happen to be tripping with one.

Freeway Noise and Hallway and Room Smelled Like Cigarette Smoke O.K., granted, this hotel brand is the cheaper of the Marriott brands, but still, we expected better. The room was small. The freeway noise was constant, as well as footsteps above. And the smell of cigarette smoke was strong getting off the elevator unto our floor, and in the unit as well. Breakfast was very good in times of COVID-19. There were a variety of choices. Service was pleasant. But I think we'll stay away from Fairfield Inns from now on.

Friendly staff/OK hotel We chose the Fairfield Inn in Burlington because it was the closest Marriott brand hotel to the ferry terminal in Anacortes and we were spending a couple of days island hopping. The staff was incredibly friendly and we really appreciated the steps the hotel is taking in terms of COVID-19. The hotel itself is just OK. First, our room was tiny--it was the smallest hotel room I've been in, except for in big cities where small rooms are the norm. Literally--there were three of us and we couldn't even figure out where to put all of our suitcases. That was unexpected. Additionally, the toilet ran continuously, the walls were very thin, and very few of the outlets worked (none in the bathroom worked), so we had to take turns charging our phones and dry our hair in the bedroom with no mirror. To be fair, I assume if we had complained to the front desk they may have allowed us to change rooms, but by the time we realized the problems with the outlets and toilet, we were settled and reluctant to pack back up and move, so we didn't mention them until check out. Due to COVID, we were actually pleasantly surprised when the staff told us that they were still serving a hot breakfast (most hotels we've stayed at since COVID have stopped that service). However, both mornings we went down to get breakfast, it was very crowded and not a table was to be found, so we opted to go to the Jack in the Box next door instead. That was a little bit of a disappointment. Overall, a disappointing hotel, however we were on island most of both days, so we weren't in the room much, otherwise those issues would've been a much bigger challenge. And the staff were very helpful and friendly, so that made up for some of our frustrations.
