Most Wonderful Vacation The setting, the concierge service, the pools, the spa, the food service, the meal plan, the food were all excellent! Hacienda del Mar was the best resort I have ever stayed at in my life! The side trip we took of the city tour was great. It was informative and we did 7 activities on the tour. Could not have been better.

$25 for water per day Things started off a bit rough as we got hustled for a timeshare presentation right as we checked in, after 5+ hours of travel. While in the end, it was worth it as we got $300 in food and drink for the stay, I think if they had just advertised those benefits, they would have had people willingly sign up for it, instead of getting tricked into thinking the person was going to show you to your room right after you checked in. Also, he said the Pitahayas restaurant was Michelin starred. (it's not) Overall, the check in experience and the front desk service in general was not great. They didn’t tell us about any activities going on, or any overview of the restaurants or menus. A few annoying things: The front desk tells you not to drink the water, so they charge $5 a day per person for potable water, and you have to pay for everyone in the room, regardless of how much water they drink. Check your bill at the restaurants -- they charged us for chicken tenders that we did not order. Internet wifi didn’t work in our bedrooms (but it worked in the living room). And as you walked around the resort you'd have to reconnect to the various access points. Bathrooms did not provide They said the COVID test was $30, but didn't include tax, so it's actually $35. Just say it's $35? We are all required to take one anyways. We felt the floor of our room was constantly dirty. They have a problem with umbrellas being blown away and hitting people when it’s windy. One time we saw one hit a girl and they had to offer her free ice cream. This seems like an avoidable lawsuit, as some of the umbrellas had higher stands that were more secure. Our room faced the road / entrance, and it got loud at night when people returned back to the hotel. A few great things: Beach was pristine. You can wade in about ankle or mid calf, but it's not swimmable. It's not really next to any other resorts, so it really seemed private. There are hawkers trying to sell you hats, scarves, jewelry , but they are not aggressive. Infinity-like pool was great, you could hang out at the pool but watch the ocean. No bad beach chair spots -- always close to the water, and we were able to get spots on both the beach and the pool on various days. Diego the activities leader led a fun mixology class. No one else joined, so our family got to make four drinks

So far - horrendous. It’s day 1 of 10 and I’m dreading this stay… The F&B is awful and expensive. My margarita was nasty; the food in resto took over an hour to arrive - and then only three of the four orders to arrive… my four year old’s pizza arrived about 20 minutes after we’d all finished. Poor guy was starving. Whatever you do, avoid the Sirena restaurant and definitely don’t order the pizza - it comes from a black hole somewhere. Interestingly, they charged us for the meal (except the pizza) and the resto manager refused to come to our table to hear our complaint, despite us asking for him repeatedly. He scurried around us. Not sure what he was “managing” if not his customers. I’m not giving a score of 1 because the room is a nice size and the hotel is clean. In Cabo, everything is a drive - so the F&B of where you stay is super important.
