Pleasant Stay. Jing at the front desk was very courteous and helpful. The room was clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Unfortunately there was not a chair that was available for comfortable reading. The only real complaint would be that the noise of the doors slamming loud when people were either coming or leaving their suites. Got woken up a couple of times due to this. Overall I would recommend staying here at the Ramada.

Not Up To Standard The great staff here deserve a pay rise - especially at reception........ As you walk in to this hotel you immediately feel the heat. Maybe they think it's cold outside ? Get to your room and it's hot too. So you turn the temperature down and nothing happens, still hot. Down to reception and you're told they "have a few problems with the air conditioning, but it's being looked at. " We were offered a fan. . So, as it turns out, the a/c has been broken for MONTHS. Obviously the hotel management knows about it and if it's a serious issue, it will be expensive to fix - but they've had a while to come up with a solution. Maybe just wait for winter ? :( It's 26C outside and about 30C in the room. Perhaps not a big deal for one night, but we did 3 and were glad there wasn't a 4th. . The rooms, while a good size, are dated. Dark timber, dark carpet and dark walls. The bathrooms are also in need of being dragged into modernity. At least the beds and pillows are comfortable ! . Breakfast is uninspiring. Adequate, but nothing to rave about. . I'm not sure what Ramada plans to do with this very tired property, or if they care about the damage to the brand ? We certainly expected a bit better - not the George V or St Regis, but a bit better. The whole place is in need of a major refurb. . I started by saying the reception staff need a pay rise and they do - because for three days - and with a pleasant smile and great PR, they told the conga line of unhappy guests " we're working on the problem" ........maybe let them wear swimming gear to work. At least THEY would be comfortable :)

Unhealthy and inconvenienced Unhealthily hot in the room as air con set so high. Receptionist was dismissive and rude when asked if it could be turned down. Makes being in the room an awful experience. If you want to stay in a place that spreads bugs, this is the place for it. Also wasted a whole day being inconvenienced because after staying 7 days i was moved for the 8th day because it was a separate booking. Same room type and $ paid, but I was made to move rooms. Don’t stay here if you value your health or time.

Surprisingly Good Was pleasantly surprised. I was nervous after seeing some of the reviews but everything was fine. For the price I found the hotel was clean, secure, friendly service and overall a good value. The AC is a central system so I can understand it may have had tough time keeping up during the heatwave but it was comfortable when I was there while the temperatures were still quite hot out. Lots of international travellers around along with regular tourists. Had a good atmosphere and didn't feel like a second rate or sketchy situation. The buffet breakfast was actually very good. Overall a pleasant experience.

Excellent location for the price We traveled for personal business in downtown Calgary. Because the hotel is only a block from the C-train, very easy to get around downtown, plus the train is free for that area. Easy walking to many restaurants. Room was comfortable, bathroom showed a bit of wear, bed provided a great sleep. We would definitely stay here again.
