Comfortable and spacious but tired and lacks eye for detail with the cleaning Stop over for family of 4 between SF and LA. Welcoming on arrival, family suite (2 rooms) and very spacious accommodation with direct access to the side of the hotel. Carpet needs a clean, and there was dust on many of the surfaces. Had to clean out fridge from crumbs before using it ourselves. Coffee facilities were adequate. Two hot tubs, with a few sun beds surrounding. Beds comfy, and a good night sleep. Not breakfast facilities, although free coffee in reception at check out. Parking free. Great restaurant next door for tea (but booking advisable or an hour wait!)

Dirty Rooms The rooms were dirty, the floors in the lobby and stairs were also dirty. I do not recommend staying at this inn.

Front desk was polite I will say the best thing about the resort is the front desk Anthony was very polite. However for my experience…the one star rating is well deserved. The ocean view itself was nice. The room on the other hand smelled like cigarettes and was extremely warm. We had opened the sliding door the moment we got there and had hoped it would cool down right away that wasn’t the case it cooled down about 2am. The rooms are much older than the other hotels on the street. Breakfast was not included however they do have a restaurant nearby in walking distance.

There are better options available Stayed here one night while traveling through Cambria in July 2024. The front desk clerk who handled our arrival was friendly and helpful, and we took an "ocean view" room on the first floor. The first floor room was small but convenient for storing our bikes. Shortly after checking in, we discovered that a loud, high-pitched tone (whine) frequently permeated the room. Because the hotel had texted us a "Welcome" message and asked us to send them a text if there was anything they could do to improve our experience, we sent them a text asking about the annoying tone/whine. However, we never received any reply or acknowledgement that they had received our message. After doing some basic investigating on our own, it appeared that the loud whine comes from inside the walls/ceiling whenever water is running through the water pipes. Because we stayed in only the one room, it's hard to know if this noise issue exists in other rooms. We also found that the ocean view from the first floor rooms are compromised by all the vehicles that park on both sides of the road in front of the hotel. There is a popular restaurant next door to this hotel, and it seemed like many of the cars belong to patrons or employees of the restaurant. When checking in, we had been told by the front desk clerk that the cars usually clear out by early evening. However, the cars in front of our room stayed until late at night. If you decide to stay here, try to book a room on the 2nd floor to get an actual ocean view. The following morning, the coffee station in the lobby was missing coffee, cup lids, and sugar, and the front desk clerk seemed oblivious and indifferent to customers, spending most of his time playing on his cell phone. However, we did manage to coax him away from his phone long enough to provide the missing cup lids and sugar, and a housekeeper provided a fresh pot of coffee. When we checked-out, we did not receive the customary "thank you for staying with us" or "how was your stay" from the desk clerk. Instead, he immediately returned his attention to his phone immediately after completing the check-out paperwork. It was almost comical how disengaged he was from his customer service job. In summary, we were eager to move on to our next destination after only one night in this disappointing hotel.

A HAPPY ACCIDENT We prepaid 5 months prior to stay at the Fogcatcher Inn but upon check-in, our room had been sold to someone else. There was no room at the Inn!!! So we were told that there was this alternate hotel down the street that had a Family Suite where we could go. It is not as attractive on the outside as the FogCatcher, and we lost our partial view suite, but the beds and linens were so incredibly comfortable. Once we were finally settled, we sat at the firepits and I did some remote work as the sun went down. I never would have chosen the Cambria Landing for my family, but it seems like it chose us.
