Amazing Sea Coast Trip What a beautiful trip! The breakfast was out of this world, and location was perfect. Thanks for making our get away perfect! Staff was so helpful in helping us plan our days to get the most out of them and to avoid traffic and lunch rush, we fit it all in perfectly!! We will be back!

Good stay Stayed 1 night during our 7 night trip to Maine. Stayed in the Provence Room. We loved the historic feel of the Inn. Staff friendly. The inn was very responsive to a couple emails I had sent prior to our stay. Breakfast was good. The Provence room was so so tiny. 2 adults, 2 large suitcases, tiny bathroom. No fridge. There was no where to set anything. Glad we weren't in that room for more than 1 night. In hindsight I should have chosen a different room - based on the photos on the website it really is hard to tell size of the rooms. Hartstone is a nice place to stay - right in town, walkable to everything - but choose your room wisely.

Not Good We returned to the hartstone after a few years and after a disappointing visit… (which I did review on Trip Advisor) we wanted to give it another chance because years ago it was a great place to stay. There was a lovely girl who checked us in but the owner, Mary Jo, recognized us at breakfast (remember the other poor review) she looked right at us and then proceeded to ignore us and wait on another couple who came in after us…we had to be asked to be waited on..really rude. But the thing that really bothered me was the room we stayed in was NOT clean. The ceiling fan was coated in dust so much so that I would not use it, the base of the tv was coated in dust (you could of written you name in it) and the carpet was not vacuumed. The bed was very poorly made and looked like someone had already slept in it… at that point I wanted to leave but could not find a vacancy anywhere else. I know help is scarce right now, but this is just basic cleanliness. I wanted to call housekeeping and ask them to clean the ceiling fan but knew the dust would end up all over the bed. It’s too bad, this place has really gone downhill. There are far better options in Camden

Prepare your back Most uncomfortable bed ever. And bedding felt like plastic or synthetic And room looks clean in photo but needs new carpet and a paint job. Just because the accommodations are in an old house….shouldn’t mean they are uncomfortable.

Hartstone Near to our Hearts Anyone who does not love this place needs to quit traveling. The food, the service, the personal touches were all first place. Happy hour drinks with great servers really helped make our stay a good one, but it was the meals that really stood out. Our only small complaint was staying at the Hideway upstairs is a little tricky if you are bringing in luggage. But overall this place is truly a highlight of of our time each year in Maine.
