Staff Broke Into Room 11:35AM After My Sister;s Funeral I had to fly alone on a red eye from Hawaii for my sister;s funeral 1st week of June 2018 and made the mistake of checking into Inn On The Lake alone and was checked in by Will (told me he was manager afterward) and he didn't ask anything when I checked in and I was staying the week but I was in mourning so I didn't know I needed to say anything and I never said I would only be staying 1 night. At 11:35 AM a short blond female with shorter hair and glasses (saw her near my room several times during stay) broke in/forcing the brass plated doorjam at shoulder height open and I had locked it and the deadbolt as well and she moved all my luggage away from the doorway and unplugged my sound machine while screaming at me "It's past checkout!!!! from edge of bed -"You need to check out now!!! over and over at the top of her lungs, while I had been asleep in the bed, after not being able to sleep for 2 nights/24 hour flights and funeral, etc. I sat up and told her I wasn't checking out that day and I was staying the rest of the week. She yelled at me and stormed out of the hotel room and I called the front desk and "Ashley", female, answered and i reported what had just happened and Ashely stated as loudly and rudely as possible that "NO ONE was ever in your room!! I re-explained that a young female broke the door jam and unlocked my deadbolt, moved my luggage and unplugged my sound machine and screamed at me next to bed that I needed to check out now and I told her I was staying the week and had never said I was checking out that day. Ashley screamed at me that no one was ever in my room repeatedly until Will, Manager admitted to me that he was aware a staff member did enter my room and that there was a misunderstanding and I insisted on an apology from Ashley and I called my best friend in Atlanta to arrange to be picked up at end of week/earliest they could get off work(I had no rental car/Ubered) Will insisted Ashley write an apology note to me - it wasn't sincere or very apologetic. Will and female "Manager" (he referred to her as that in front of me, could have been Ashley for all I know) insisted I sign a document in addition to invoice/pmt as my best friend witnessed at front desk as I checked out/I honestly couldn't see/read as I had never been allowed to sleep due to extremely noisy people in room next door who were partying all night long.

Inn On The Lake Beautiful resort on Lake Canindaigua. Great hotel with Lakeview rooms. Fine dining and casual outside bar& restaurant. Currently closed for a total renovation. Will reopen in 2020. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very Average I can see why they are doing a major refurbishment. This hotel was totally overpriced for what it was and it was only the very pleasant and organised staff (particularly the front desk manager) which made the stay of two nights ok.

Dated but lovely atmosphere I was nervous coming to this Inn on the lake because of the other reviews. I will say that the hotel is dated and in serious need of the update it will soon be getting but it has a lovely feel and the staff are all very sweet. The rooms were very clean and the beds extremely comfortable. The lake view rooms with chairs outside were so nice. I loved the Adirondack chairs on the lake. There were two weddings while I was there and they both looked beautiful. My major criticism was of the food so I hope that they improve that with the revamp. I look forward to another trip in 2020!

Don't stay here Terrible, terrible, terrible! Save your money. The walls are paper thin. The rooms with shared bathrooms in the hall are so noisy in the middle of the night. Didn't sleep with all the noise. You can hear everything in the next room. The place is also dated and run down. Look elsewhere. I am checking out early, just cannot take another night here!
