Good for the price The best part about staying at Oleo were David & Gabriel at the dinner buffet service, the bartender Enrique at the pool, and Gerardo at the indoor bar with Live music. Take care of them, and they take EXCELLENT care of you with a smile, laughs, and a good time. Get the ocean view. It's worth it. We were greeted with champagne upon arrival AND there was a bottle and some sweet treats awaiting us in our suite. The food at the buffet option was impressive and Mexican night was EXCELLENT with Live Mariachi and mole that was SPOT ON. The Live music entertainment at the bar was a hit or miss, but a nice touch anyway. The pool scene was good, but the bar service closes at 7 PM and the pool closes at 8 PM, which really sucked. The facilities and property in general are well maintained, but we did see some closed areas in repair and the beach completely washed away. That was the most disappointing aspect of the property. We were REALLY looking forward to being ON the beach. Instead, we made the best of it and did excursions. Because the buffet offered good options, we did not go to all of the other eateries, except for ALMAR. We were not at all impressed with the entrees. The biggest letdown was the pressure to attend a presentation in order to get presumably discounted rates for excursions. Overall, I would recommend this place. Keep in mind that it is not near the party scene which is nearest to Coco Bongo (Map it), but public transportation gets you there easily.

Best waiter at Oleo Cancun Marcelino at the Hakka restaurant was fabulous. So attentive when waiting on us during dinner. Quick with each course and extremely friendly. He made our experience so enjoyable we went back the following evening again for dinner. Food was very good, there wasn’t anything we tried that we didn’t like.

Amazing I arrived at the hotel on Saturday 20th July and left on Friday 2nd August. This was first time to Cancun and had an amazing time and I don't usually first the same country twice but I will be returning back to Cancun and staying at the same hotel I'm glad that the hotel is not big compared to other hotels. The size is correct because everyone becomes a family. The bar staff Enquire, Antonio and Alejardo were brilliant always laughing and looking afternoon. Antonio and Aljerado (dimples) great entainers and make sure everyone is involved in games etc. The Aidya, Diego, Alberto, Tamara, Julia please keep up the good work on reception always friendly, polite and will go beyond to help you with anything. Also the bar staff who serve food and making sure everyone is happy Adbad, Carlos and Ruben All staff at the hotel are fantastic and specially my house keeper Roslina. Thank all and see you next year.

Oleo felt like home! We had a great 7 night stay at Oleo despite an arrival after hurricane Beryl. They did a great job getting the minor issues resolved as fast as possible to minimize inconvenience to guests (1/2 of the pool was closed due to an lumbing issue our first 2 nights, minor painting/repairing to exterior was also happening). The food is AMAZING at all the eateries! Room service was prompt, but food options were less favorable. Ofelia at Azul was an absolute treasure! She was so sweet, attentive, and made us feel at home! We ate at Azul daily! Edguardo at Almar was the BEST! VERY pleasant and helpful! He made eating there feel like a five star restaurant! Antonio at the pool bar was my favorite! He was nice, fast and made our drinks well! He even was kind enough to entertain my daily banter and playful nicknames (mi amante)! Geo, our concierge was AWESOME! He had great recommendations, he's insightful, super friendly, kind-hearted and just a genuine lovely person! Overall, everyone was super great! Based on the staff and food we give our stay a 5/5! Based solely on our room and facilities, we'd give Oleo a 4/5 since it's not as new/modern or as big as other resorts. Despite the amazing views from our room, in relation to the ocean, its a 3/5. The shorline provides very minimal sand area, it's very rocky directly i front of the hotel. We would have to walk a few resorts down to find a more desirable entrace to the water. All in all I would definitely recommend Oleo if you're wanting a relaxing, clean, peaceful, warm and welcoming environment for your stay! I'm sure we will return one day after experiencing what else Cancun has to offer! Thank you to everyone that helped make our stay as lovely as it was! We definitely didn't want to leave!

Specifically for Almar restaurant Excellent food and top notch service. Special thanks to William for his attentive service. Well stocked salad bar, fish of the day, and beef were great. Mexican beef tends to be a bit heavy on salt and one notch too well done but t I asked for it with no salt and rare and came out just the way I like it
