Not Worth The Money This hotel is run down don't waste your money. The staff are you kids and do not do anything unless ou ask. Dirty towels left at the pool, trash on the ground. For the cost of this hotel the standards are very low. Our room was clean but no view, house keepers arrive at 8am and are noisy outside as the congregate before their shift. The good point is the location but stay somewhere else. I will never go back.

Place needs updating badly Been coming for years and leave saying it wasn’t worth the price. I get that it’s a laid back vibe hence the name but The place needs basic up keep and maintenance. Rooms are beat up with dirty carpets and limited comforts. AC units are so noisy that you can’t hear the TV, pool looks like it hasn’t been touched in years with missing tiles and many cracks even the pool furniture has been broken for years. Basic snack tables are cracked, these are not that expensive guys. Definitely taking advantage of a great location with limited rooms.

Perfect Family Vacation! We had a wonderful stay at the beach shack in June. Our family stayed in a "Bunk Shack" style room and it was clean, comfortable and our boys loved the bunk beds! The staff was friendly and helpful and I even appreciated the fun conversation with the reservationist, who helped guide me to the perfect room location based on our needs. The motel is right across the street from the beach, and the staff set up chairs, umbrellas and towels for us. It was awesome not having to worry about packing or bringing those things with us. We highly recommend and would love to stay here again sometime soon.

Great location but not so great room. We recently stayed a few nights at the Beach Shack. Let’s start with the good parts. Checking in and out was super easy. The office is small and if more than one guest is in the office it feels tight. I was in and out though in two minutes. Our room was ready before the 4pm time which was great. We were able to check-in by 1pm. The location is fantastic. We had a room facing the stage of the Rusty Nail and it was fantastic listening to music right from the room. It was a quick walk to the beach and a ten minute walk to Washington Street. Since our room was on the second floor we could see the beach from our room and it was nice sitting outside and enjoying coffee in the morning. The mini fridge in the room and fast WiFi was nice touch. We loved the beach service! It was great to not have to bring towels and chairs to the beach and to have beach tags provided. Fair warning if you lose them there is a $200 replacement fee. The pool was on the smaller side and I saw no staff there to assist with umbrellas or chair setups. The towels were not out but rather inside cabinets for guests to grab. While the pool would get busy, it was quieter in the morning and it was easy to get chairs. With all of that said, I was disappointed in the room itself. Upon entering our room you could immediately see how run down it was. The furniture has seen better days as has the carpet. There were strange stains on the carpet that reminded me of gum that was scraped off but left traces. I get the idea of the cute and kitschy pineapple carpet but as a mom with young kids I would have preferred clean tile flooring or laminate. The carpet felt damp given the proximity to the ocean and it visibly dirty. The entire room felt damp which I think contributed to the wear and tear on the room. The ceiling in the bathroom was peeling. The furniture veneers were peeling and cracked. The comforter had a water stain. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint. The door knob was damaged as if someone damaged the foot in an effort to replace the knob. The room was not super clean. The remote was sticky and there were remnants left from the previous guest (personal items left on the air conditioner). The cabinets near the mini fridge were dirty. On the surface it was clean but if you really looked you could see it was quickly cleaned. The coffee pot in the room was dirty inside and lacking the motivation to clean it myself I didn’t use it and opted for coffee I purchased elsewhere. All-in-all the room was mediocre at best. If it were spotless and well kept I would hesitate to stay again and highly recommend this place. Overall our stay was OK. It was not the worst place I’ve stayed but at a high price point it was disappointing to see that the room was so shabby.

Pool Bar Attendants Now, I am not one to write a review but those pool-bar attendants, I believe their names were Kait, Conner, and Oliver.. were on point keeping the pool yard clean, while also offering me a nice gin & tonic. Very sociable, knowledgable, friendly, and caring people who really make the beach shack a resort. Overall the staff was great, the Rusty had pretty good food, parking was covered thoroughly thanks to the parking attendants. Will definitely be coming back!
