Don't bother, look for other hotel(s) This is just an updated information for those who are thinking to get a room in Carlisle, PA., for an event like car show. Well, this hotel pretty much no longer exists. I know it, because I happened to have a chance to read local paper and found out what's going on. Don't be fooled by some reservation website, like Ex*****. If you type in this hotel's name and try to find a room on any date, it says, "We're sold out". Well, the fact is, they do not have a room to sell. At all. Not because it's sold out but the hotel is not operating any longer..., well, it was not operating as a "normal" hotel before, so this must be a good news that no one else will have to have a nasty, terrible experience like I and all others who stayed at this hotel before. However, I have to point out one thing. If it's under a good management and enough budget, this place CAN be a one of the nicest hotel in Carlisle. I don't now if there's a good future for Hotel Carlisle, but right now, it's very unlikely.

Awful!!!!! Ok, first off, I wouldn't give this place one star but I had no choice. It's horrible. Old, run down, nothing works, bed is harder than the floor, toilet doesn't flush, staff is rude, complains to customers about their management, restaurant is a joke, it's basically a slow crappy serviced bar with cold overpriced food. Pool tables didn't work right, pool was shut down again, half the bathrooms thorough out the hotel were out of service, the halls smell like propane, and the smoke detectors were mostly unplugged! We came here as today's our anniversary and we spent our honeymoon here, we had a blast 6 years ago and tonight I'm wishing we would've just stayed home. Waste of time, money and so stressful we can't enjoy it.

Absolutely horrible place for a business banquet The organization to which I belong held it's annual meeting and banquet at this location this evening. It was the 1st and last time we will be there though it will haunt my dreams for years. 1) the check-in person had to get the bar tender to guide us to our assigned banquet room because she didn't know where it was; 2) not all of the food ordered was delivered and the remaining food was delivered after numerous trips to the kitchen by our organization's president AND it was cold when it should have been HOT; 3) bread consisted of unsliced hoagie rolls (no butter); 4) creamed soup was separated; dessert consisted of breakfast baked goods; 5) salad was delivered after several requests then we had to make another trip to request dressing (ranch and balsamic vinegarette); 6) we received a qt. of ranch and a qt of balsamic vinegar (no "ette"); 7) the "prime rib" we ordered was actually some sort of grey thinly sliced beef (well, I hope it was beef). The room was as follows: very stained and damaged ceiling tiles and table skirts only partially attached to the head table. Just before the culinary experience was to begin, the hotel extorted an additional $250 from our organization to ensure we received our "food". I could go on and on, but I think I'm coming down with a case of intestinal distress,,,,,,

This place was just plain creepy. We arrived at at the hotel Carlisle to a beautiful lobby. We were able to check in early but the outbuilding that our room was located in was poorly lit and had dark stains and drag marks on the carpet. My room had no heat and I found food in the dresser drawers . I called and complained about the heat and the repairman came after I called again 30 minutes later. I still had to get up frequently to adjust the heat as it would not stabilize at a certain temperature. The bed in my room what's comfortable but the mattress cover had been torn and the bedding was old and stained. The TV was not flat screen and the desk was too large for the room. It smelled very musty. I would not stay here unless it was absolutely nessisary.

Up and coming although this isn't a crown plaza or Sheraton..... This place is definetly in the forward motion of improvement. You can tell by the over all aurora things were let go, and have recently been acknowledged and started to be addressed. I travel thru carlisle frequently- I have stayed her years ago- (10+) once things started determination for I moved on to another hotel a few blocks down. On my way in this visit I noticed the marquee outside with dinner special listed....etc and assumed someone new was hindering things.... Last time I was in town nothing was on the mArquee the grass was over grown and the hotel looked in shambles outside (late 2014). I pull up, get out of my car.... Walk inside and I am greater with 2 very friendly faces. As I walk up to the desk the ladies said hello sir! With greeting smiles on their faces (night and day from last visit) as I walk up and ask for a room, and give my basic info, Jessica (I find out is the front desk manager) says she notices I have been here before, as I state yes.. She thanks me for coming back, I state that last time I was here wasn't the best , she reassures me of the new ownership, new management, the up and coming remodeling program they are starting soon, what they've already accomplished, and that the bar and grille is open....(perfect for me) it was one of the warmest welcomes I have ever had at a hotel. I then ask for her general managers contact information, and realize it's actually the other lady behind the desk. Long story short- this might not be a perfect hotel, but it sure is on the up and up, staff is friendly, accommodating and resilient (based on reviews as well) I wish you all luck, see you soon! I also can't wait to come back to eat, the food and service was great,
