Nice People. Not Clean! I had a 5 nights stay at this hotel a couple of weeks ago. I found the people to be very friendly and the Front Desk folks made you feel extremely welcome, but that is where the goodness stops. In this post-covid world, they are only cleaning the rooms every few nights. I chose not to have housekeeping come in during my stay, since they would have come in just before I left. As I packed up, I looked under my bed, near my head and found a disgusting, used, dirty, bent Q-Tip. I don't gross-out easily, but this was beyond disgusting. Moreover, if they missed a bright-white Q-Tip, what other cleaning shortcuts did they take. I questioned if my "sanitized" room had been thoroughly cleaned at all. I politely complained to the desk and received the standard "oh-- I'm so sorry" from the clerk. She set my folio aside and was going to have the manager call me. I made sure that she had my phone number. Welllll It has been more than 2 weeks and no call. Mistakes are made and it is hard to get good staff right now, but there is a serious training and supervision issue here. I would have preferred to handle this with the manager, but since I didn't get a response, I feel the need to caution others here. These folks have slid from a good "4-5" rating right down to a "2". Partly because of their sanitation and partly because of managements lack of concern.

Still blaming Covid and under construction We chose to stay at a Marriott because we desired the consistency the Marriott name implies. Positives: *front desk staff both at check in and check out were friendly and accommodating (the night one offered to charge my phone because your outdated desks and lamps are missing USB plugs) * Room 220 was clean and comfortable even though the view was of the casino parking garage Negatives: *No USB charging devices in the room. And according to the front desk staff, this is a routine request/complaint-the cheapest alarm clocks have them now. Or, order a bunch of plugs and have them available at the front desk. *Under construction- apparently for over a year based on other reviews *Lounge closed - Covid still? *No breakfast (weekday either) and told there was Starbucks and Normal Starbucks food offerings *lied to about coffee machine out of order - I guess the Tea Maker and food preparers were also out of order as the place was deserted *ice machines taped off - that pesky construction thing again *the same spill in the elevator was there from check in to checkout (try mopping) Overall, Marriott should pull their name off your establishment. I suspect the nearby Motel 6 had better amenities at half the price. Save the money and avoid the aggravation

Dump Great location for those day-tripping to Lake Tahoe or the Carson Valley, but otherwise the Courtyard is a dump. Zero Marriott Bonvoy elite status recognition. Restaurant is closed, except for coffee and pastries at breakfast on weekdays. Lobby is under renovation (not disclosed). Outdated room with a TV from at least 10-12 years ago. Housekeeping did not clean toilet. Toiler seat had urine all over it. Pillows were polyester-fill and looked like they were well-used. Very old and outdated Courtyard. Needs to be gutted, floor-to-ceiling.

Great Hotel I stayed here one night while in Carson City. I was able to check in the day before on my app and requested an early check in. I arrived around noon and was able to get the room as it was ready. The only thing I did at the counter was get the key since I had checked in the day prior. I had a room with two beds. The beds were comfortable with a lot of fluffy pillows (something I love). There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room (something I hope to see in every hotel room). The bathroom was big and I was able to get Netflix on the TV. The location is great. There were plenty of fast food and regular restaurants and shopping nearby. The train museum is down the street. With COVID-19, I understood that many of the facilities would be closed. There was hand sanitizer throughout the hotel. As I left my room to check out, I saw another guest talking to a housekeeper, asking for something. The employee asked the woman to step back and put on a mask. This made me feel as though all the employees are taking the correct precautions when it comes to COVID.

Horrible: Save Yourself the Headache Unclean, unprofessional and not worthy of your hard-earned dollars. An overall terrible experience from start to finish. Clear that management of the hotel isn't invested in your experience. Spend your time/money elsewhere, you will be happy you did.
